Punto Nemo

DID YOU KNOW? Point Nemo is an oceanic pole of inaccessibility, located in the South Pacific Ocean. It is the spot in the ocean that is farthest from any land, making it a unique geographic feature. Due to its remote location, Point Nemo is often referred to as a "deserted" area of the ocean.

Interestingly, it has also become a graveyard for decommissioned spacecraft, as space agencies often choose to deorbit their satellites and space stations in this region to minimize the risk of debris falling on populated areas. The isolation of Point Nemo adds to its allure, making it a fascinating subject for exploration and study in both scientific and artistic contexts.

Living in Madrid, I have been seeing advertisement every 5 meters everywhere. In fact, it's very b movie with lower than average script which is blended of all possible twists and genres like a smoothie with fish, milk, meat, strawberry, ice cream, Acai and Tabasco.

Trying to engage with a viewer, it looses any complicity. The show feels very rushed and like they haven't had a chance to write a story and randomly connecting ideas written on the stickers on the desk no matter where it leads and why because they all have another rushed job coming soon with potentially a bigger budget.

Cast did its best but couldn't save such a generic and madiocre project at all.

Just finished Punto Nemo on Prime and... yeah, I've got thoughts. The show starts off really strong, a team stuck on a mysterious island, weird science stuff, secrets unravelling it totally pulls you in. The whole vibe is super moody and atmospheric, like something big is always just around the corner.

Leander Vyvey absolutely kills it as Noah Olsen. He brings this calm intensity that makes you really root for him, even when things get messy. Also, shoutout to Óscar Jaenada, Najwa Nimri and Alba Flores. Seriously good cast all around. They keep things interesting even when the plot starts wobbling a bit.

And that's kind of the thing... it does wobble. Around halfway through, it starts feeling a bit all over the place. Like they had too many ideas and didn't quite know where to take them. By the time the last episode rolled around, I was hoping for some real answers but instead, we get one of those open endings. Not the cool "make you think" kind, but more like "wait, that's it?"

Still, it's a fun ride while it lasts.

Title - Good idea for a show, somewhat interesting concept and delivery.

The Spanish side of the cast seemed to be on their game but every time the actress who played Zoe (Margarida Couceiro) spoke, it just took me out. Dreadful performance. They seemed to want to put a pretty face in the show but as learned from Amber Heard, better to make sure they can act first. Spoiled brat vibes start to finish with terrible presence. Every scene she was in completely broke the immersion of the show.

It's a shame considering some good performances of the other actors, especially Alba who, as always, delivered quite well.
