The Caretaker

This film filled me with all sorts of emotions from anger to sadness! Anger from the child who suffered abuse from a loveless mother scary as the plot thickened with the twists and turns as the truth came out and emotional at the end! Great performances from everyone! A very dark story which at times had me on the edge of my seat! It had a mixture of everything from failed relationships to the start of a love story with a lot of horror in the middle to the end! Each actor played their part so well from the sad homeless Caretaker to the spoilt upper class Deputy Head Master they had me feeling this story was real !

Sometimes a thriller doesn't need to grab you by the throat from the start; it simply invites you in, lets you sit in its world, and then delivers a knockout punch that leaves you breathless. This film does exactly that, proving that a slow start can build into something extraordinary when handled with care and precision which this production executed brilliantly.

Each scene serves as a piece of the puzzle, carefully constructed to develop a connection between the audience and the characters. The writing is sharp and intuitive, allowing the cast to fully embody their roles. The cast deserves immense credit.

The cinematography complements the story beautifully using subtle visual cues to build tension. Every detail, from the set design to the sound editing has been meticulously crafted to serve the story.

A huge round of applause to the director and the entire crew for delivering a film that is not just thrilling but unforgettable!!

I was fortunate enough to attend the preview screening of this film on the 25th January 2025.

I can honestly say I was taken back by the level production that this independent movie has. I was super impressed. The editing and production from Luke Tedder is brilliant.

Performances of the leading cast could not be faulted. Each of them played their roles to perfection and created authentic and chilling characters. The vulnerability and sincerity from Ben Robert playing Eddie was great.

Landa Pictures always work miracles with limited resources but with bundles of passion and talent.

This movie is certainly worth a watch for any horror/thriller fans out there.

Fantastic movie from start to finish!

Anybody that has the opportunity to watch The Caretaker will be hooked from the very beginning as this is a true edge of your seat masterpiece!

As the story develops, the suspense builds, the emotions change and viewers are taken on a ride they will never forget!

Every single cast member should be extremely proud of what they have achieved as the finished article is a true testament to all of their hardwork, passion, talent and dedication!

I watched this film at the cinema with family on 25th January 2025. I wasn't sure what to expect as this is not my usual type of film, I'm more the romantic, comedy type! I was invested in the characters from the start especially the main character, the caretaker. Despite his lack of dialogue I was able to feel his emotions and have a deep empathy for him. The film had a great storyline, with twists, turns and suspense, I wasn't disappointed. It's left me with questions about the characters future which to me is the sign of a great film! I'd recommend watching this film, even if it's not your usual "go to".
