This reception solidified its potential, paving the way for its expansion into a full-length animated feature.
Integrating Chinese cultural symbols like the twenty-eight constellations, the story of "Into the Mortal World" is inspired by the Chinese folktale "Niu Lang and Zhi Nv" and unfolds the story of their descendants.
According to Winsing Animation, "Into the Mortal World" was completed by over 50 top production teams and more than 2,000 animation artists for over five years.
Built upon the story of Niu Lang and Zhi Nv, one of China's four great folk tales, which is deeply embedded in the hearts of generations, the film ventures into a creative space largely untouched in previous narratives, offering a fresh perspective on this cherished Chinese folktale.
This animated short film, "Falling to the Mortal World", is a final year project made by 13 students from the School of Visual Art and Design, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, China.
