As much as I loved the cinematography and the premise of the story, I must say this was one of the most overrated Filipino movies ever. The follow-up to the blockbuster first film "Hello, Love, Goodbye", which was a big hit from 2019, was cliche but undeniably moving as well. I really liked how the way the characters portrayed their roles whole-heartedly. This was such a career move for them both as they take their acting powers to more mature heights. The casting was amazing, as well. The only problem I had was the writing. The first half of the film was resoundingly good, but the scenes were all over the place. I particularly loathed the transition of the scenes because it messed up the feel of the film.

This film definitely has its flaws, but there's something undeniably enjoyable about it. The story itself isn't groundbreaking, and it follows a pretty predictable path. Some of the dialogue can be a bit cheesy at times, which may take you out of the moment, but it doesn't detract too much from the overall experience.
What really elevates the film is Kathryn's performance. She brings a level of depth and authenticity to her character that makes you forgive the movie's more clichéd moments. Her acting is top-notch, and it's clear that she puts everything into her role. This is what makes the film worth watching, despite its predictable narrative.
In the end, while the story may not offer anything particularly new, the acting performance makes it all worthwhile. It's a fun ride, and if you're a fan of both the leads' works, you'll find yourself enjoying it more than you might expect.
Overall, it's a solid film of its genre.

There was a lot of craze about watching this movie here in Calgary simply because the setting was in the city. However, I was disappointed (but not unexpectedly) for the following reasons:
1. The movie does not portray the average Filipino migrant here. Majority of Filipinos do not opt for common law partnership but traditional church weddings.
2. The movie is too liberal, again not the typical Filipino family tradition even among the many migrants. Premarital relationship was portrayed as being normal. This makes the movie (in my opinion) not suitable for minors and even the Filipino adolescents who may be influenced by this (to put it bluntly) immoral behavior (in the eyes of the Church).
3. Furthermore, another ungodly detail in the movie was presented as something common, was an irregular union, ie gay relationship. This again is the exception rather than the rule.
4. There were several instances where immigration laws were violated, eg. Working without proper work permit was shown as if it was normal without fear of being caught.
5. There was not a single scene where any of the actors visited a church or prayed for their dire predicament. This is totally unusual since majority of Filipinos turn to God for help in times of need.
6. The movie will be undoubtedly popular to young viewers aspiring to migrate to countries like Canada. In my opinion, there was lack of sensitivity of the producers to the Filipino culture. Majority of migrants carry with them traditional Christian family values.
I do pray that there will be more people in our movie industry who would offer their work for the greater glory of God.

Joy makes the difficult decision to leave Hong Kong for Canada to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse, which puts her and Ethan in a long-distance relationship. As they each live in their respective cities, time and the COVID-19 pandemic take their toll on their relationship. After going their separate ways, fate has again brought them together under different circumstances and as evolved individuals.
This is an excellent romantic movie with a good balance of comedy and drama. The story is simple, but the combination of immigration, a global pandemic, and a pinch of cultural humor makes it unique. The story shares how love grows and changes and how individuals must grow and change to survive and thrive. With a runtime of two hours and two minutes, some parts are unnecessary and slow the overall development of the story. This is a great movie to stream for a unique international romance.

"Hello, Love, Again," the 2024 Filipino romantic drama sequel to "Hello, Love, Goodbye," follows Joy and Ethan as they rekindle their relationship in Canada. Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, the film brings back Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, delivering chemistry that has fans raving. This time, the story emphasizes the challenges faced by Filipino overseas workers, with heartfelt moments balanced by the joys and hardships of love. The film's emotional depth and strong performances give it wide appeal, making it a touching sequel with universal themes of resilience and love. Great film!!

Finally! I've been waiting for this movie to be released on a digital platform since I missed the chance to watch it in theaters last year. So, thank you, Netflix PH!
I watched this just before Valentine's Day, and I must say, it had that signature Star Cinema feel with a touch of GMA Pictures in terms of storytelling. As a sequel to a 2019 film, it successfully continues the story five years later. While the plot may seem typical, the journey of Ethan and Joy-now known as Marie-still stands out. Many Filipinos worldwide followed their story, and the film has now officially become the highest-grossing movie in Philippine cinema history.
However, despite its massive success, I couldn't help but notice that Kathryn Bernardo's character feels quite repetitive, resembling roles she has played in previous hit films. This makes it a bit cliché, as her portrayals tend to follow the same pattern. That being said, Kathryn's acting remains exceptional-she truly brings her roles to life. It even feels like she channeled her real-life experiences into this performance.
As for Alden Richards, his emotional depth is impressive, making him well-suited for drama. However, I think they could have toned down some of his character traits, especially those that made him come across as a red flag. At times, it felt excessive, almost as if he were enabling cheating. Nonetheless, his performance was undeniably strong.
As I mentioned earlier, the film has that distinct Star Cinema feel with a touch of GMA Pictures, which keeps it engaging since they always manage to offer variations even when working with a familiar plot. The storyline was well-crafted, but just as Kathryn and Alden mentioned in their interviews, it might be best to conclude Ethan and Joy's story here.

Hello, Love, Again did justice to the first installment. It is not just a romantic movie-it's a heartfelt exploration of love, dreams, and the sacrifices we make to build a better future. Thr film paints a vivid portrait of the lives of overseas Filipino workers, with all their struggles, hopes, and triumphs that we in the Philippines didn't notice as we all view our OFWs "rich".
The movie's strength lies in its ability to balance romance with deeper themes of independence, self-worth, and the importance of pursuing one's dreams. It challenges the notion of love as the ultimate goal, instead presenting it as a part of the journey-a message that feels refreshingly mature and empowering.
With its compelling performances, emotionally resonant story, and a bittersweet ending that lingers in your heart, Hello, Love, Again is a film that celebrates the complexities of love and the resilience of the human spirit. It could be watched without seeing the first movie but we definitely recommend seeing it atleast once.

A pure fan service hokum and sequel to the 2019 hit. The movie changed its setting from Hong Kong to Canada where Joy (Bernardo) and Ethan (Richards) cross paths after a painful break-up during the height of the global pandemic. Joy works as a caregiver and cleaner while still pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. Ethan is trying his luck in Calgary after going bankrupt.
The movie spent much of its two-hour runtime posing the question if the former lovers will reunite or permanently go their separate ways with a script that had every trope possible for films like this. Many scenes were repetitive and overextended while there were subplots that were undernourished. Except for the two principal characters, most of the other roles were one-dimensional. Bernardo easily provided the movie's best performance while Richards was adequate but still relied on his dimpled and puppy-eye looks. Gamboa, as Ethan's bestfriend, acted as the movie's main clown and got the funniest lines that were dished out more than necessary. At least the film did not turn out to be part travelogue which usually occur in Filipino movies shot abroad.
The film could have handled the ending better with a more realistic conclusion that didn't belie Joy's character motivation. Instead, it opted for a pedestrian crowd-pleasing denouement that would explain why the film is now the Philippine movie industry's biggest moneymaker with over $22-million in ticket sales. Oh well.

I honestly can't understand the hype around this movie. None of my non-Filipino family members enjoyed it, and even I'm left feeling disappointed by the overall experience. While I respect the work of Kathryn, the film just didn't hit the mark for me. It felt overly hyped, and in my opinion, it was better off without the sequel. When it comes to the lead actor, I found his performance to be pretty mediocre-nothing groundbreaking or particularly memorable. I expected more depth from his character, especially considering how much buzz the film received.
One of the more frustrating aspects of the film was its aesthetic choice to blur the background, a style that I've seen in many Korean dramas. It really bothered me here too, as it didn't feel purposeful or well-executed. Instead, it just made the visual experience feel overly stylized, almost to the point of distracting from the story. It's one of those things that can either add to the atmosphere or make the whole thing feel disjointed-and unfortunately, for me, it was the latter.
The film's premise had a lot of potential, but the execution left me wanting more. The sequel, in particular, felt unnecessary. Sometimes, a film has its moment, and then it's best to leave it as is. With this sequel, I felt the story got stretched thin, and instead of building on what made the first film interesting, it seemed like they were just trying to milk it for all it was worth.
Ultimately, while some people may find it enjoyable, for me, the film just didn't deliver. I feel like it missed the mark on key elements, and the over-hyped buzz surrounding it only set my expectations higher, leading to more disappointment in the end. If you're looking for something deep or truly captivating, I'd suggest giving this one a pass..

"Hello Love Again" is a sequel to "Hello Love Goodbye". This sequel is surprisingly good even though it falls to the Star Cinema formula, "Hello Love Again" is still an OFW movie like it's preficessor with a love story as a the background. I have nothing to complain about this movie as it has brilliant acting performance from the whole cast. Great direction and most of all the majestic cinemathograpy. It's nice to see they also tackle mental illness and COVID 19.
As an overall experience, "Hello Love Again"is the most satisfying sequel I've seen this year! This the perfect conclusion to the first movie. A must see!

Hello love again is a perfect continuation of hello love goodbye while incorporating the real life events of Covid-19. It perfectly portrayed the life of an OFW trying to make it in a foreign country with nothing to their name in the midst of a pandemic.
The love story between Ethan and Joy portrays realistic events, human emotions, and reactions to different circumstances.
Both Ethan and Joy are understandably came from different background and they have different point of view in life. The movie did a great job in show casing that and showed how they react individually in a situation based on their personal experiences and background.
The movie did a great job in providing insights in both characters and where they are coming from in the midst of challenges, mistakes, and why they do what they do/did.
Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo perfectly portrayed the character of Ethan and Joy with their own background and the different emotional requirements needed for the different characters.
You can feel empathy for both characters and you will cry and laugh with them as they navigate through the different challenges in the story.
Overall it's a great mix of drama and great comedic timing that overall tied this movie up into a great movie.

A well directed film. Smooth story telling and sequence of the story is very good. This is definitely better than the first movie "hello, love, goodbye" because this story focuses more on both protagonists of the story. I think Filipino peeps would love this film, full of love, couple drama, and comedy to balance the entirety of the story. It indeed a right amount of drama and comedy. You can see the growth of both protagonists in terms of character development in their lives. Aside from character development. In the movie, it showed their failures in their lives as time goes on. Overall greast movie. Let's support our own movie here in the Philippines.

Jorros, Valerie and all the supporting actors- Everyone, I mean everyone is shouting and acting with too much exaggeration and trying too hard. The entire movie, it is so painful to watch because every scene is so cringey. The store line is SO IMPOSSIBLE. The script is too cheesy it hurts. People who says this is a good movie has serious below average intelligence. I honestly can't finish this movie. It is pure trash and so disappointed Filipino really just support movies with their favorite actor but not based on a good story or movie. It is absolutely a waste of time to be watching this movie nor pay.

It's basically everything that is wrong with aspiring immigrants from third world countries to developed nations. Using the tourist route to get to the country and working as undocumented residents is what is being encouraged in the movie and is so wrong on so many levels.
The acting from the main characters were good, but the supporting characters were way over the top and very unrealistic.
The content is recycled from many other Filipino TV shows and movies and is disappointingly unoriginal.
Movies like this need to respect or even acknowledge the premise of international laws and not make it seem so easy to migrate to other developed nations. Plus, moving to another country is not just finding your own countrymen and joining the communities there. There needs to be a bigger emphasis on encouraging the immigrants to not only come to these countries the correct way but also assimilating to the culture of the land.
I understand that it is ultimately a love story but what makes other love stories great is the fact that they make it relatable and realistic, even to an extent.

Joy and Ethan's story continues in this wonderfully told sequel that, like the original, is full of feels, Filipino values, heart, humanity, and touches of goodhearted humor.
The original movie was set in 2019 and the sequel shares what has happened since. Being an OFW is hard. Being in an LDR is also hard. The devastating COVID-19 pandemic adds to their seemingly insurmountable challenges; their values and virtues are truly tested.
Joy and Ethan are brought to life by mature and moving performances from Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards. Their emotional attunement is amazing and authentic, and their shared fondness and admiration in real life are evident.
Overall, it's a great film directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, with beautiful cinematography, a lovely original soundtrack, and a strong supporting cast, including memorable performances from Joross Gamboa and Kevin Krieder.

What a heartwarming masterpiece that beautifully portrays the lives of OFWs, capturing their struggles, sacrifices, and dreams. It's so relatable and moving, especially for anyone who understands the challenges of being away from home. The raw emotions, genuine characters, and powerful story make it impossible not to get attached. Honestly, it's the kind of film I could watch over and over without getting tired. No amount of hate can take away its brilliance. For me, it's a gem that truly deserves all the love and appreciation it gets, and then some! It's not just a movie; it's a heartfelt tribute to the resilience and love of OFWs, making it unforgettable and deeply inspiring.
