फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
The horror-comedy genre has picked up over the years, and this movie slides into that category very easily.
Honestly, the first reason I wanted to watch this was because of the mysterious poster. A guy with a chainsaw and another one with a hammer, behind one of those trope-ish cottages synonymous with vacation horror movies.
Apart from that, I have seen Lee Sung-min and Lee Hee-joon in other movies, so I was curious to see if the plot was good.
From the get-go, the movie delivers. Of course, the plot isn't all that special, with a gang of spoiled college-going youngsters trying to have a weekend of fun and two simpletons who just happen to come to the same town with the hopes of starting a new chapter in their lives.
What ensues is a steady stream of innocent misunderstandings that accidentally awaken a demon that has been trapped for decades.
As expected, some scenes are very touching - South Korean directors have gotten this emotion down to a science.
On the whole, I found some scenes very funny, some completely exaggerated, and some surprisingly had me on the edge of my seat.
If you can find it and you like this kind of content, watch it.

This is a riot. Just enough zangyness, just enough drama, just enough horror, and also just enough overacting. And definitely needs overacting for this genre.
Comedy is hard to be good. This one uses coincidences and misunderstandings. Legends and preconceptions. There are a few social dynamics here and there but nothing too serious.
Never saw the original but the 2 lead guys with the wardrobe, makeup and demeanor alone is priceless. Then there's the acting, speech patterns, facial expressions, physical comedy, to the max. All this comes with typical cliches !!! Some setups you can spot miles away but so what? It's all fun and games. Plus most of the times the camera stay out of the gore.
Wait there's also a dog too !

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil was great 15 years ago. I bet if I watched it right now it would still be great.
This was perfect for right now. They adapted the movie to the modern day but kept it a classic comedy. I'd say, one of the only ones that could be made these days. Everything seemed in place - everything seemed to fit.
As someone who has seen the original, I love the homage, but this isn't that movie - If I dare to say, this is the smart version of that movie. If you can say your phone now is a smart version of the phone you had 15 years ago.
I don't know if the original was funnier because I was 15 years younger then or because I didnõt have to read the movie - but as a movie, this was better.

Initially this movie kinda flew under my radar as I've no information whatsoever on what this movie was about & I didn't even bother to check as well, but when I found out that this was remake of Tucker & Dale vs Evil, I was seated directly.
I actually never watch the OG movie, but it's mentioned quite a few times on a bunch of horror lists that it picked my interest. I'm glad I get to at least experience it, even through a remake, cause it's a remake well made. Also glad that they kept the wood chipper scene as it's the one scene I expected most to see. The gore was ofc toned down, but I didn't mind it at all as it's still an enjoyable movie.
