Exclusive: A new single-cam comedy from comedian Aaron Karo is in early development at CBS. The script for Blanks will be written by Karo, who executive produces the project alongside Wilmer Valderrama’s Wv Entertainment production banner and CBS Studios.

Blanks follows a serial dater whose life is turned upside down when he learns his biological clock is running out, just as he meets the woman of his dreams, who isn’t ready to settle down yet.

Karo is a comedian, screenwriter, podcaster and No. 1 New York Times bestselling author. His script, Tickle Me Elmo was voted No. 8 on the 2024 Black List and is being developed by Misher Films. He recently sold the spec pilot Lexapros and Cons to Awesomeness TV with frequent collaborator Lindsey Rosin, based on Karo’s young-adult novel.

Previously, he created the Channing Tatum-Michael B. Jordan animated vehicle Germany, which received a pilot presentation at Comedy Central.

Exclusive: Wilmer Valderrama and Freddy Rodriguez are teaming up on the new weekly podcast series Dos Amigos (Two Friends), premiering on January 30.

The project will join other popular podcasts from Valderrama’s exclusive slate with iHeartMedia’s My Cultura Podcast Network, of which he is a shareholder, including More Better with Stephanie Beatriz and Melissa Fumer, Essential Voices with Wilmer Valderrama, Date My Abuelita, First!, and Forgive Me For I Have Followed. Dos Amigos is co-produced by Valderrama’s production company Wv Sound.

Each episode will feature the longtime friends as they candidly reflect on their careers and lives, and share everything about everything. The podcast will be recorded from Wilmer’s speakeasy and feature special guest appearances. Their goal each week is to bring friends together to spark honest reflection while toasting the good times.

A week after making its first appearance on the streaming charts, former Showtime drama Your Honor has rocketed to No. 1 overall.

The series starring Bryan Cranston nearly tripled its viewing time on Netflix and Paramount+ in the week of June 3-9, grabbing 1.53 billion minutes (vs. 544 million the week before) and bumping Bridgerton out of the top overall spot. Your Honor had its Netflix premiere on May 31.

Bridgerton, meanwhile, fell by about 42 percent week to week and finished with 806 million minutes of viewing — a figure that’s likely to go up in the next set of rankings, which will include the release of the Netflix show’s final season three episodes. It finished ninth overall and third among original series, behind Eric (926 million minutes of viewing) and Sweet Tooth (874 million).

Bridgerton declined about 37 percent in viewing time from a week earlier, but the Regency-era drama still ranked No. 1 overall on Nielsen’s charts for May 27-June 2 with 1.38 billion minutes of watch time on Netflix. The series has claimed the top spot for three straight weeks since its May 16 premiere, with another surge likely coming when results for the second half of the season (which debuted June 13) begin to arrive.

Rhimes’ Shondaland also had two other entries on the charts: Grey’s Anatomy came in third overall with 1.2 billion minutes on Hulu and Netflix. Bridgerton prequel Queen Charlotte also edged back into the top 10 original series list, scoring 274 million minutes of viewing.

On June 6, Fiona Harvey filed a $170 million lawsuit against Netflix, claiming the series falsely presented her as a sexual predator and a twice-convicted stalker who was sentenced to five years in prison. “As a result of [Netflix’s] lies, malfeasance and utterly reckless misconduct, Harvey’s life had been ruined,” the suit states. “Bridgerton” has returned to first place on the Netflix Top 10 after the debut of Season 3 Part 2. The season hit 28 million views in the final four episodes’ first four days of availability.

Viewership of earlier episodes through the entire week of June 10-16 were also accounted for in that total, but were Netflix to separate views of Parts 1 and 2, the number would likely be even higher. Views are calculated by dividing the total number of hours streamed by a title’s runtime. Therefore, even though the majority of the season’s 223.3 million viewing hours were certainly concentrated on the final four episodes, they were divided by the season’s full eight-hour length, rather than its latter few hours alone.

“Hit Man” was the most-watched streaming original of the week by far according to Luminate’s weekly viewership rankings for June 7-13. The Richard Linklater film, which had a limited run in theaters but was primarily launched as Netflix original, hit 1.5 billion minutes watched in its first seven days on the service — translating to 12.6 million estimated views when divided by the film’s runtime.

In both viewing minutes and views, “Hit Man” more than doubled the performance of the next-most-watched movie. The French Netflix film “Under Paris” landed at No. 2 with 594.8 million minutes watched and 5.7 million views, followed by Netflix’s “How to Rob a Bank” with 216.2 million minutes watched and 2.5 million views.

The rest of the chart was populated by titles that have made Luminate's rankings in previous weeks, e.g. "Atlas" (No. 4 with 113.7 million minutes watched) and "Colors of Evil: Red" (No. 5 with 106 million minutes).

Miranda Derrick, the subject of Netflix’s docuseries “Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult,” released a video on Instagram claiming that her and her husband James’ “lives have been put in danger” since the release of the hit documentary.

The three-episode series, which premiered on May 29, follows a group of TikTok dancers who believe they are involved in a talent management company called 7M. The docuseries focuses on Miranda Derrick, a member who’s estranged from her family, which is desperately trying to get her out. It also paints a portrait of Robert Shinn, the 7M leader and self-proclaimed “man of God” who is a pastor at an invite-only church called Shekinah. Members who escaped 7M shared their stories of heartbreak and grief under the leader. One former member, Priscylla Lee, who participated in the series, currently has a lawsuit against Shinn and other Shekinah members.

“Eric” and “Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult” were the two most-watched original series in the U.S. during the week of May 31-June 6.

“Eric,” Netflix’s Benedict Cumberbatch-led limited series, had the highest number of minutes watched in its first full week of availability, clocking in at 1.1 billion, while the TikTok docuseries followed at 714.6 million minutes watched. While both demonstrated strong viewership, “Eric” took first place thanks to the benefit of its five-plus-hour runtime; in views, “Dancing for the Devil” hit an estimated 4.4 million people, while “Eric” came in second with 3.3 million.

In terms of minutes watched and views, both titles edged out “Bridgerton” Season 3, which has dominated the charts since its debut.
