Cyrano, Cyrano

I thought this was great.

Not only was this a nice throwback to the sort of episode that the original 'Frasier' used to do so well, but it also saw all of the new cast members being given something funny to do and thiving with it. Ok, not David, but he's a wider problem the show needs to address.

Kelsey Grammer was on great form, and I like how the characters love of love has stayed with him across all three series (the other being 'Cheers' of course.

There was a lot of talk/press about Patricia Heaton being in this episode, but to be honest it's a role that anyone could have played and she doesn't add much to it.

On the whole though, this was a very good episode of 'Frasier'.

This was, generally, another fair-to-adequate episode in an fair-to-adequate revival of what had been a great series with one exception: I've never seen a guest actor make an episode like this before. According to IMDb, this is the first thing I've ever seen with Patricia Heaton.

While all the other actors (whose talent sometimes shines through the mediocrity with which they work) are essentially sleep-walking their way through a phoned-in script, Patricia Heaton steals the show. Her timing, facial expressions, everything about her was exemplary. If this had been the first episode of this second life of 'Frasier' I'd seen, I would have assumed she was a regular.
