I'm Brazilian and hadn't watched a Brazilian movie in a long time. When I came across Fé para o Impossível, I decided to give it a shot. I usually don't enjoy films with political messages, which are quite common in Brazil, but this one carried a religious message instead. I'm not a churchgoer myself, and I know critics have said the film was aimed at a Christian audience, but I don't see any problem with that. After all, every film needs to connect with a particular group of people.
The story is touching and heartfelt. I didn't like the father's character very much, but since it's a biographical story, his serious and resilient behavior may well reflect the real person. I was also impressed with the children, who acted convincingly, especially in the more emotional scenes.
It's not an exceptionally original or groundbreaking movie, but it's still moving, rewarding, and worth watching.
