After his father's death, Lalo drops out of college. Meanwhile, Lalo's best friend Karla is struggling with the challenges of her new leadership position. After a heated argument with Tobias, Lalo spontaneously moves in with Karla.
Lalo seeks support from Karla. Plagued by panic attacks, he tries to rekindle his relationship with his ex-boyfriend. Lalo's mother begins to clear out his deceased father's belongings. Another nasty surprise follows at a birthday party.
Lalo tries to pull himself together with Bijan. At an interview for a talent exhibition, Lalo meets the fascinating artist Joshua. Karla tells her parents about her frustrations at work and doesn't receive the understanding she hoped for.
Lalo is participating in the unpaid exhibition. Overwhelmed by her boss's assault, Karla goes to her class reunion, where Karla runs into her former school friend Abebi, and old feelings return. Lalo also blossoms on a date with Joshua.
Trip to Rügen: Karla visits her school friend Yvonne. Lalo tags along. The mood is strangely subdued. Yvonne wants to make up for the ten years of silence - and expects an apology. But Karla doesn't see any fault in herself.
Lalo stays with his mother, Marion - but only briefly. He talks to Bijan about relationships. When the two go out with Joshua, they have an intense night. Karla tries to fight back against her boss's abuse.
Marion confronts Lalo: Her son needs to get his life back on track. Lalo remembers moments from his childhood and youth. When he shows Joshua his old childhood bedroom, he lets him get closer to him than he'd previously intended.
Where will Lalo go? Shortly before the art exhibition, however, things clash between Joshua and him. Karla's situation at work escalates. When Lalo's guests at the exhibition realize they are all part of his installation, chaos erupts.
