Man with No Past

13 समीक्षाएं
5/10

Not an achievement, not a failure, but very watchable.

I really don't understand why some reviewers are emptying carts of dung on this movie.

It's not great, but it's not bad.

The movie is average. Average shooting. Average direction. Average acting. But a rather efficient script.

There is little action for an action movie, but the clever part is that the storyline builds up to the action sequences, so that they are quite satisfying when they do occur.

Director James Bamford's filmography is a good indicator of what to expect, minor thrillers, like Jade, Hard home or shadow zone, and efficient episodes of NCIS, batwoman, superman & lois, or Arrow. Actually this is what you should expect, a good feature length episode of Arrow.

Could've been something, but missing some needed connections.

"Man with No Past" introduces an intriguing concept but fails to capitalize on its potential. The time travel elements are poorly explained, and the plot lacks cohesion, leaving audiences waiting for answers that never arrive. The characters are largely one-dimensional, with Jon Voight miscast as a clueless businessman. Charlotte Vega and Marton Csokas bring some appeal, but their talents are underused. Cheap visuals, dark sets, and uninspired production design add to the movie's shortcomings. Emotional moments fall flat due to unclear connections between characters and events. With forgettable dialogue and no standout scenes, this film is unremarkable and unlikely to be revisited. A disappointing effort overall.

You again!?

Is boring. It's boring because it is as chaotic as flash cards are at a 5th grade foreign language class. Indeed, it appears the director was just as bored; doing one disjointed scene after another just to get through his contract.

I pity the actors who signed on and then had to suffer the direction.

To that add the storyline is a pretty well used theme ( flip-flopping to and fro in a timeline.) The difference here is it flips and flops so frequently you forget where the base point is?

Character development has little "time," in the flip-flops to develop. And so, the viewer is left with their own devices to sort things out; which might be fun in a well written novel. But in a film that typically last less than 200 minutes a lot of artistry has to happen. It did not happen here. Instead it's a hod podge of unbelievable scenes knitted together and presented as "A Film." It is just that. But not a very good film.

No Spoiler

Imagine a move that's a real certifiable steaming pile. Go it?. . .

Ok, now, imagine another movie that's also a real steaming pile. Go it?. . . . .

Okay. Now, imagine these two steaming piles get together and have a baby.

That's Man With No Past.

The reason I put "No Spoiler" as the title is because you can't 'spoil' this movie no matter how hard you try. It arrived already spoilt, you see.

It is so bad, anything you do to it would be an improvement. If you got all copies of it and burned them, that would be a huge improvement!

If you don't believe me, then see it yourself and find out.

You will not be surprised!!!

Please don't waste any money!!

If you need background noise while cleaning or sleeping, this is a perfect choice. This was the worst chaotic movie i ever watch. It seemed very low budget and didn't make sense at all. It wasnt engaged. You couldn't pay me to watch this again. Everyone wear the same clothes. Maybe 2 pairs of clothing each actor. I fell a sleep 5 times. Nothing was explained. I wish I didn't pay for it. I cant even write a short summary of what I watch. I need my money and the time I spend watching it. The actors did their best, the flash backs didn't make any sense. I really rate the movie 0 out of 10 if I could.

Barely Watchable

It just seemed like the story dragged so much.

Scenes would just linger and Adam Woodward doesn't seem to have the charisma to carry the acting load. Jon Voight despite his age provided a much needed spark.

What was that!!

The storyline lacks flow, very many irrelevant scenes just stitched up together and they call it a movie.

The story itself is beautiful and could work but the way it has been displayed in this movie makes it plain.

At best it is just watchable on a boring day when one lacks the will and strength to lift the remote and find anything better.

The acting is quite good and one should go watch it and experience the feeling of something lacking. It is quite hard to explain what exactly, but definitely there is something that needs to be unlocked for it to be captivating.

I could have been harsh in my review but that's what there is!!

Interesting

The movie is an action movie but the storyline is quite a bit convoluted, dealing with the idea of repetition of lives and cosmic forces.

The quality of the movie overall is decent, nothing is amazing but nothing is bad either. Few of the actors are quite good, obviously Jon Voight and also Marton Csokas who needs to get more villain roles, he is great in them.

Action scenes are not bad but seem like the type of scenes that I've seen before elsewhere, with the camera near the action moving about and with the action changing from normal speed to slow motion to normal speed. It looks more of a comic book movie type action. It is done competently.

The violence isn't too graphic and there is a modest sex scene where nothing much is revealed.

A must watch; Time & Deed; Only number changes; story always remains same.

Awesome story of Ryder, Order(Good) & Chaos(Evil).

Moral: Both sides are equally important for man to play his role. Always doing the right thing may not yield good results but it always keeps yourself righteous in your own vision; which is the most important perspective.

It doesn't matter how many times he comes to earth; he always listens to his heart to do good over and over.

As the elders said, your deeds can be judged by others; but only YOU have the right and responsibility to know thus judge yourself.

An perfect summation of both good and evil and the henchmen of both sides across the ripple of time.

Man with Much Past

This movie seems to be a collaboration of many movies and TV series in years gone by with cherry picked ideas that don't quite fit into a neatly packaged storyline. Yes, it's very well acted and presented but not very well written. I constantly felt the answers or clues were just around the corner in the next scene throughout this movie but they never came, and left me with a lot of questions over incidents and events. All in all it's a decent bit of entertainment with light voilence and a non-revealing romance, by today's standards. The way Adam Woodward carries himself in this movie it's clear this actor will be destined for greater things in times to come. Jon Voight and Charlotte Weston are amazing (as always) and Charlotte Vega is great in a supporting role. Well worth watching, even though the ending has been seen many times before and is very much predictable. The writers could have broadened their minds and done it differently to make this more than a 6/10 movie experience.

6.5, not bad

It has an intriguing storyline about reincarnation and time loops and the fights/action sequences were short but good.

It's not a blockbuster but not a terrible watch either, and I don't get what everybody else was so confused about. The movie flowed well and the flashbacks were very straightforward to me with no explanations were needed.

The biggest fault I could say is that all the characters except the 3 mains (Voigt, Woodward, and Csokas who steals the show) don't really have much to add overall, with the detective being the most unimportant and cut-able.

I'd be down for a sequel if one ever materializes, but I doubt it will.

Enjoyable due to Adam Woodward

I wasn't expecting much from this and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. The plot was interesting and I liked that it wasn't confusing , considering it's going back in forth in time. It was well shot, the performances were OK, although it was obvious at times Adam Woodward is not American. In the end though, that didn't matter as Mr. Woodward is so charismatic on screen and the camera loves him. Whoever directed this movie and whoever shot it, knew to use many close-ups of his handsome, flawless face. The entire production had a nice atmosphere and there was genuine chemistry between the leads. This is obviously not a Hollywood big budget production which was a good thing. B Movies tend to be much more interesting than what Hollywood currently churns out. I would recommend giving this a watch for Adam.

not thaat bad

This movie has an interesting concept. However, it takes forever to get there and could have been a lot sharper and snappier. (and shorter, but I always say that)... One could hope that eventually Ryder gets his happy ending but sadly it seems he's doomed to continue with the never ending saga of attempting to rescue the girl and her Mother. At least he finally gets to know love in this one. Perhaps the next step will be to grow on that - I suspect that will depend on Mr Chaos himself.

The good guy gives off Terence Hill vibes with his American accent slipping. Younger viewers will have to look that up I suppose. Lol.
