Shane Gillis and Steve Gerben in Tires (2024)

If you're an idiot like me, you'll love this.

Listen, it's Shane Gillis. If you like Shane, you'll absolutely love this show. I had full and deep belly laughs every episode. The first couple episodes feel like a sketch show more than anything but once the story kicks in it really pulls some stuff together. The cast of characters have great chemistry. This is a show written by comedians for people who love dumb, stupid, hilarious juvenile comedy and that's me all the way. So if it's you, watch the show. I'm just here to support my boi Gilly and put another positive review on the webs because you're not gonna get any positive headlines in the media so here we are.

Sit Back and Laugh

I wasn't so sure going into this show, so many sitcoms have failed and been so blah lately. But I have this a chance based on Shane and Stavros. It definitely exceeded my expectations, it got plenty of laughs out of me. The crew they put together all work so well together. This show doesn't try to be anything it's not, it's good light hearted fun. And it is also SCARY close to the source material, as someone who used to work in the automotive industry, this is almost exactly how things are. Can't wait for season two which has been confirmed. If it stays in track I'm sure it'll be another good season. Only 6 episodes so it'll kill 2 hours in a breeze.

Funny stuff

Comedy, much like music, is subjective. I'm not going to bash Taylor Swift because it's not my type of music, it would make me seem like I have something against the swifties, which I don't. My girlfriend loves Taylor Swift, she obviously appeals to millions. Would I go to a concert? No. But I would buy her and her sister a ticket so I wouldn't have to go. I'd be pouting the whole time and ruin it for her.

This show is funny and Shane gives all his buddies a slice. Stavros kills.

Lame people gave one star cuz they are miserable kucholds. Prob offended easily. Maybe watch a Ted talk or attend a furry convention.

It gets better each episode

This was a fun watch. If you're already a fan of Shane and a few of his "gang" from the comedy world you'll like this a lot. Stavros was really good in the episodes as well and I was most surprised by his performance. Steve who played Will was very strong. In the end you get a good connection with allthe characters and I'm glad to hear season 2 is a GO from Netflix. The first couple of episodes are a little slow but they all find their stride. I really liked all the characters. Schultz even was likable. Shane of course, was enjoyable to watch and some of his lines were delivered with perfection.

Come for the Shane, stay for the Gerbees... and everyone else!!!!

Maybe I'm biased being from PA, but I feel like these characters are more real (and deeply funny) than most other shows out there. I found Shane right before his Austin special and I've been a fan ever since. Many of the cast can be seen in the Gilly and Keeves shows and they are all super talented. Stone cold comedy murderers; Stavros, DeRosa, Steph Tolev, and Schultz (just to name a few) are beyond great in their roles. Season 1 was really good, but season 2 has been incredible! There's the funny, there's heart to it - as these characters become fully realized throughout the series. I feel I manifested Vince Vaughn's appearance, as I thought he would be perfect in this show and there he was! And he was perfect! I'm rooting for Gerben to become bigger than Tom Cruise! This show is like a cold beer after a hard day's work, or better yet, a grilled cheese sandwich in the middle of the night!

Funniest show on netflix

Let me start by saying I'm not usually a fan of Netflix shows. They tend to feel overhyped, overly dramatic, or just plain predictable. But Tires? This show completely caught me off guard-and had me laughing like I haven't in years.

At first, I was skeptical. A show about a tire shop? It didn't exactly scream "must-watch." But within minutes of the first episode, I realized this wasn't your typical Netflix series. Tires leans into its bizarre premise with confidence, turning the mundane world of tire repairs into a non-stop comedy rollercoaster.

The characters are what truly make the show shine. They're ridiculous but not overdone-whether it's the shop owner's deadpan humor, the rookie's constant screw-ups, or the overly dramatic rival shop down the street, every scene feels fresh and hilarious. The writing doesn't rely on cheap jokes or forced drama; instead, it finds comedy in the smallest, weirdest details. One moment you're watching them argue about tire rotations, and the next, they're accidentally caught in a wild conspiracy involving a delivery truck.

I didn't think I'd get hooked, but Tires turned out to be exactly what I needed: something light, clever, and genuinely funny. If you're like me and usually roll your eyes at Netflix's endless lineup of cookie-cutter shows, give Tires a shot. It's proof that even the most unexpected ideas can be comedy gold.

Rating: 1000/10-Not what I expected, but everything I needed.

Slow and steady first episode but flows after.

Is the show simple, yes, would someone who isn't familiar with Shane like it instantly, probably not, but that's the magic with everything Shane does. The writers Steven Gerben, John Mckeever and Shane have done a great job making something familiar but new, it could be compared to the office but it's really it's own beast because of the setting, this is male bestfriends doing what male best friends do and the humour that comes out is amazing. All cast members do a great job, the directing is good and the pace is solid once you are invested. Plus Shane earnestly leaning in and talking to Steven as Steven jumps between calmness and panic is a gem of a moment.

GIVE ME SEASON 2!!!!!

Tires has got to be the most surprising funny show I have seen in a very long time. Sure it seems super basic and 'Office-like', but the dialogue and manners that each and every one of the characters has is so ridiculously funny especially with each situation they get themselves into. I wish that there were a couple more episodes in the season, but it's perfect that another season was just announced a day after the first season was released. If you love 'The Office' or 'Parks and Recreation' I highly suggest you watch this show, but if you are not into a lot of cussing an extremely crude humor, continue with caution. I can't wait for Season 2!!!!!

Season 2 ruled

I really enjoyed Tires season 1-even if it looked like it was shot on a GoPro duct-taped to a raccoon. The budget was clearly tighter than a lug nut on a semi, but the writing and comedy still landed like a truck full of laughs. Season 2, though? It takes that same scrappy energy and spins it into a smoother, faster, funnier ride-like someone finally splurged on decent shock absorbers. The characters are even better now that we've seen them evolve from "who's that guy?" to "oh no, what's he doing now?" I highly recommend watching both seasons. Season 1 lays the groundwork, establishes personalities, and makes sure you're strapped in before the series really takes off. Think of it like rotating your comedy tires-worth it for the long haul.

Slow start but picks up speed as it goes.

The pilot felt like Curb with a more improvised feel and lots of space in between jokes. But in Episode 2, the jokes come faster, the writing improves, the editing gets slicker, and the human moments begin to hit. Overall I found it funnier than most sitcoms. The show leans more into the humor and less into plot, which is refreshing.

If you like Shane Gillis' standup you'll enjoy the show. If you don't appreciate standup or have a delicate sensibility, you'll probably find it offensive. And if you're one of those people hate watching to get offended and complain on Twitter, enjoy your manufactured outrage.

Overall, solid effort for a first season.

Season 1 is ok, Season 2 is Top-Shelve

I liked season 1, watched it gradually. Wasn't in a rush to watch season 2.

However... Season 2 hits the sweet spot. The characters are more human, funny, deeper, and better developed. It's double the episodes (12) and I watched it in two sittings.

Deffo looking forward to a season 3 now.

The addition of more struggles for the Protagonists and the once off character appearances in certain stories really paid off.

It's funny, relatable, watchable and entertaining. A great TV comedy series. The romance angles suit the characters and stories too. The heels becomes faces and the faces become loveable.

Easy laughs

I might be a little bias with this review but sign me up for anything Shane Gillis. Anything and everything he has put out, I've enjoyed. Tires is a short and light show that takes place entirely in a tires shop. Horribly mismanaged and filled with lackadaisical workers. Shane Gillis and company poke fun at themselves as well as poking fun at others. It's extremely familiar in the sense that everyone has worked with these people in some fashion. Tires is the perfect watch if you want to relax and have a few laughs by yourself or with friends. If you're on lunch and you just want to throw something on while you eat than look no further. You'll probably breeze through the episodes but season two has already been green-lit so more is on the way.

Way funnier than I expected

This show had me laughing, it's genuinely funny. I was surprised by it, I thought it would be just okay, I guess I like Shane's comedy but I've found it a bit one dimensional. Now this show though, does something special. It builds on seemingly unsuspecting moments and makes them into comedy gold. It's the irrelevant insanity of a group of actors that play very well off of each other and creates some comedy moments that are unexpected and infinitely charming. Not only does it bring in a star cast but the roles each play are just fantastic. Enjoy this show, it doesn't take itself too seriously and it's a true comedy and deserves respect.

Watchable, needs to bloom

I was pretty disappointed in the first couple episodes, but it starts to find its footing and gets better. Then problem is that there are only 6 episodes, so it doesn't run for long.

It's a workplace comedy, easy to relate to. At times it really shines and got me belly laughing.

So why only five stars? It has way too much simple/crude humor jammed in, and that gets a bit repetitive. I feel like they did it as a crutch, in case the better written stuff didn't land. But it did land, which made the simple stuff out of place.

The writers/directors need to let this bloom and depend on their own wit. They got this. Look forward to season 2.

Fantastic Comedy

Finally a comedy that is different and funny.

If you're fan of Shane and his podcast, you will love this.

Great cast and a lot of special guests to please.

The writing has a lot of heart and Gerbs is so good in his role. Season 2 will be great and it's 12 episodes.

I would recommend this to anyone.

It's crazy that this show was on YouTube and was turned into a show. Now if Netflix could buy there other scetch comedy show be great for more people to see that so much better than SNL.

Shane's comedy is so good and well thought out, reminds me of Chappelle with the story's you can turn into skits.

Just comedy.

Episode one had me concerned, I wanted to love this show as a card carrying Dawg. Very happy to say from 2 onwards this is exactly what we wanted and expected from Tires. It's just a comedy and I mean that in the best sense possible, there's no moral message, no fancy plot points or gimmicky production decisions - the focus is on funny and show succeededs perfectly in that regard. If I had one piece of feedback for season 2 it would be very simple: MORE KILAH. She's hysterical in every scene and it could be great to have more plot points thrown her way. Hopefully season 2 allows for more episodes and more opportunities to integrate Kilah's character.

A satiable, easy watch that pays off because of Steve Gerben

If there is any reason to watch this show, it is Steve Gerben - he makes this show what it is. The indie project aura of the trailer is exactly what you will receive in the show. Six, 20-minute episodes make the entire series an easy watch in one sitting. The show ramps up over time as characters slowly develop, although it feels like we never really get to know all of the cast due to the short series format. There are plenty of humorous moments, so long as you're willing to accept the premise of the show is looking through the narrow lens of a male dominated work environment. Steve Gerben plays a convincing role of ineptness and innocence, creating the perfect launching pad for comedic antics. With the announcement of Season 2 being ordered by Netflix, my only hope is the next go around has more time to highlight individual characters.

Giving it a harder time than it deserves

As a consumer, I am in love with work place comedies. TIRES definitely has potential to hit all the major needs for such a show. However, I felt that only 6 episodes for season one left us at a "cliff hanger" that didn't have enough time for the story and characters to develop where they needed to be. Idk if this was trust issues between Netflix and the writers but regardless the season needed way more episodes to keep people hooked. Would I watch season 2? Probably... HOWEVER, if it the plot isn't able to thicken and expand further than what they already have, then all I can say is bearish...

It's just plain funny!

There's no frills or hard to follow story lines. These guys cut out all the unnecessary filler and made a genuinely hilarious show. I feel like anyone that has anything negative to say is expecting too much. The simplicity is what makes this show great. Just enough of a story line that it's easy to follow and sets a road map for the plot but the focus is on the comedy and showcasing a variety of different comedians given acting roles. Personally, I absolutely love it and can't wait for more seasons. These guys definitely found something that I believe the "sitcom" world never knew it needed. Keep up the good work!

So wrong that it's right

You really are going have to get this kind of humor to enjoy it. What's funny is that Shane Gillis knows that all of the stuff is completely inappropriate. He just is thrilled to push the boundaries. And that's what makes me chuckle.

I am super into respecting everyone always, so it's a fun outlet to just watch someone say all the wrong things. And he does it so well. It's not just random stupidity, it's funny stupidity.

Will you writhe at times at how utterly uncomfortable something sounds or looks on this show? How totally wrong it all is? Absolutely yes.

Like the Star Trek enterprise, does this show go further than any main stream show has gone before? Probably yes.

If the thought of this makes you laugh, definitely watch the show. I am a 57-year-old white woman in the Midwest, so I am totally not a teenage demographic, and the show delights me.

Tires - Series Review

Tires follows Will (portrayed by Steve Gerben) who manages a one of his family's mechanic shops, the Valley Forge Automotive Center. Along with Will, the story talks about his cousin and coworker Shane (portrayed by Shane Gillis), Cal (portrayed by Chris O'Connor) and Kilah (portrayed by Kilah Fox).

The series has a lot of comedic elements mostly from Will, Shane, and Will's supervisor Dave (portrayed by Stavros Halkias) who I thought were really funny. It's not as funny as Shane's stand-up comedy, but the overall plot was fairly interesting. It's also only 6 episodes so you could easily binge it within 2ish hours.

Overall I would say the show was entertaining and I would recommend it to anyone who likes Shane's stand-up - 7/10.

Hilarious

Shane is the star of course but the rest of the cast is perfect. This reminds me of my summer jobs when I was young. Messing around with everybody, having a good time. Just a great show. Please make a second season Netflix!

The story along the episodes connect as well so it's not just one of those comedies where every episode is a new storyline that is disconnected from the one previous. I benched the first six episodes, which is the entirety of season 1, in one sitting and it felt like only an hour had gone by. It was so enjoyable and I laughed out loud to myself, which is rare in comedy these days. A+

Charming and funny

I like comedies but I'm picky about sitcoms. However, I really enjoyed this show. I thought the characters were engaging, I loved all of them, and I thought the humor landed. I found myself laughing out loud several times. This flew by with only six episodes. I would have loved being able to binge more than that. I can definitely see myself watching this again very soon, which I love to be able to say.

There's an indie vibe to the credits sequence. The show might have benefited from not going in that direction. I didn't feel like the scenes themselves had the same vibe. That can put people off. Normally I would be put off by that although I gave this show a chance because I like Shane Gillis. I don't think the trailer really did the show justice.
