Everyone grieves in different ways. Some get over the death of a loved one in a week, some take a month, some are never able to “move on,” and some don’t even have the privilege to sit around and mope. Based on personal experience only, that last category is the most relatable because, well, life has always come in the way of my mourning stage. The endless cycle of giving exams, seeking employment, and ensuring that I don’t end up on the street has always kept me from taking even a 7-day hiatus to process death. For some reason, I stupidly assumed that this is the case for a majority of the planet’s population because of the consistent economic recession and rise in joblessness. And then I watched Dan Levy’s Good Grief and saw that rich people grieve in a manner that’s totally alien to me.

“Cross,” the James Patterson adaptation starring Aldis Hodge, debuted at No. 1 on Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings, with 1.36 billion minutes watched during the week of Nov. 11 to Nov. 17. All eight episodes of the series premiered on Amazon Prime Video on Nov. 14, meaning the show was only available for four days during the viewing period.

The show, created by Ben Watkins and based on Patterson’s “Alex Cross” detective novels, performed particularly well with Black audiences, who accounted for 40% of total watch time.

Following behind at No. 2 on the overall top 10 is “Deadpool & Wolverine,” which landed on Disney+ on Nov. 14 and was the most-streamed movie of the viewing period. “Outer Banks” held on at No. 3 after five new episodes of the Netflix teen drama dropped on Nov. 7.

The period romance subgenre is a key component of the streamer's success, represented by the runaway popularity of Bridgerton. Despite the notable gaps between seasons, and the shifting central focus from one season to the next, Bridgerton season 3 reaffirmed the franchise's passionate support as it dominated the streaming charts and broke records.

The success of Bridgerton, which has served as a launching pad for new stars, has led to the creation of a franchise with the Queen Charlotte prequel spinoff and the possibility of other series following that example. But it has also revived interest in corset dramas, with the Apple TV dramedy The Buccaneers standing out as an example. Another corset drama, though far more serious in its tone, is trending on Netflix.

“Cross” was the most-watched streaming original in the U.S. during the week of Nov. 15-21, per Luminate. The Amazon Prime Video series, based on James Patterson’s “Alex Cross” novels, was watched for 1.8 billion minutes in that timeframe, which marked its first full week of availability after premiering on Nov. 14.

Peacock also had a big win this week, charting higher than normal with the debut of “The Day of the Jackal.” The Eddie Redmayne-led series was watched for 830.4 million minutes in its first full week of streaming, landing at No. 2 and edging out “Tulsa King” Season 3’s third-place-winning 787.6 million minutes.

Many years ago, when Antonia (Álvarez) found out her sister, Perla (Serradilla), was sleeping with her husband, Bernardo (Tappán), the two got in a huge argument that led to a devastating car crash. The accident left Antonia infertile, for which she blamed Perla. Seeking retribution, Antonia captured and tortured Perla — forcing Bernardo to sexually assault Perla. Perla got pregnant, and soon after giving birth, Antonia kidnapped the child and left her for dead.

We were made privy to the lives of multiple characters in Sisters’ Feud, and we witnessed how their lives intertwined and how their actions ended up having a huge impact on each other’s lives. Till the end, two factions were created: one who supported Antonia and the other who stood alongside Perla. A Tragic Beginning: A Tale of Two Sisters Torn Apart

The show starts with a high-stakes scenario right from the opening shot: a woman, Perla Guerra (Ana Serradilla), is chased on horseback through a desert by her sister, Antonia (Claudia Álvarez). Sisters’ Feud, as the title suggests, is the story of two sisters who despise each other to their core. There are 20 episodes in the series, and in each one of them, there are so many twists and turns that by the end, you just lose track of things. I personally didn’t think that there was any need to release 20 episodes in one go because, as a viewer, you just lose interest in the scheme of things till the time you reach the finish line. The way the series is written seemed quite superficial and, moreover, convenient to me personally. I won’t deny that the series did seem a bit of a stretch to me, and I felt that there were a lot of half-baked subplots that served no purpose to the central narrative. In this article, I have tried to recap all the major events and understand what happened between the two sisters.

When looking at Netflix’s foreign dramas, “Sisters’ Feud” is a stunning Mexican show that breaks traditional storytelling rules.
