Cryptic

Members of a criminal organization are sent to guard a coffin.

This film was different. I can't remember having seen another film like it and I appreciate the plot creativity. I thought that the acting wasn't perfect but decent. It has been filmed well also. There's not a lot of blood, guts and gore in this and while it has been marketed as a horror film, it feels more like a thriller to me. I'm glad I came across it.

I'm not usually a fan of Guy Ritchie type films, but this was really quite enjoyable.

4 gangsters are locked in a crypt with a coffin which they are guarding until "Gordon" the big Boss arrives. They are later joined by a junkie and 2 more of the gang plus their lawyer.

Why they are all there becomes clearer and we hear about each of them, most of them despicable in their own way.

To further complicate the issue, some of them are convinced a vampire is preying on them too.

The body count rises.

There is a twist at the end which I never saw coming and, for a change the ending was satisfactory with everything explained.

I chanced on this on Blinkbox. It wasn't what I expected, in fact it was much, much better. I thought it was going to be some tacky gangsters versus vampire film (which I would have been OK about). Instead it was a who-dunnit/locked-room mystery. Even if everyone in that room are worried about a vampire who is killing criminals. Witty dialogue, lots of plot twists and some decent acting. Very stylishly directed as well.

It is definitely worth watching, and I say that as someone with absolutely nothing to do with the production.

I'd say more, but I enjoyed the way the story developed, and I'd hate to spoil someone else's enjoyment.
