The theme of "girls help girls" or "Pride and Prejudice" is not new, but Filter's approach to it is completely different from the usual. I didn't expect that the deep-seated prejudices in this society would be portrayed in this film through humorous situations. The situations are super funny and surprising; you really can't predict the direction of the story. As soon as you think that the character will resolve the situation according to your thoughts, the next episode will break your preconceived notions in a thought-provoking way. This will make you realize how narrow-minded you truly are.

Each character in Filter has their own strengths and weaknesses. I love how Filter shows us the complete development of each character throughout the episodes. Even the villain character also has a unique personality. Every character that appears in this film shines as if they are the main character in their own story.

A fresh and profound script. The film has many beautiful and creative angles. I think the director deserves a lot of praise. The lead actors truly performed excellently. They built and shaped their characters sincerely. They brought the characters to life and made me both laugh and cry for each one.

With 16 million fans, Tan should not be in this situation. But the ratings of the three dramas after "Longing for Love" are all over 7 points, which shows that most Tan fans are not interested in the image he plays. "Sifangguan" is quite fresh because of the contrast, but the next two dramas are still weak scholars, so they are not very interested. This shows that most Tan fans really love Xiangliu, not Tan Jianci. Secondly, the filter was not promoted in advance, unlike the next drama which was promoted very early, and the audience's appetite was very satisfied, while the filter was like a temporary idea, which combined into this powerless and embarrassing situation.

I thought the actor who played the FL was exactly right for the part-she was cute though not spectacularly pretty. But she came across as strong, energetic, and a fighter. The ML (the character, not the actor) was a disappointment - weak, insensitive, and clueless. Someone taking up that much of my viewing time needs some zip on his fast ball. The women who were the initial objects of Tang Qi's romantic feelings weren't believable and their antics were tiresome. Not an engaging plot, although I liked the alpaca and the bronze statue-they were fun. The second leads were both good, especially the FL's best friend. The idea of the magical-bracelet was clever and deserved a better treatment than it got in this series. Six generous stars.

Filter is the best show to come out of C drama land this year. Its' wacky, innovative and fun plot keeps viewers interested throughout. No fast forwarding is necessary here. The drama is well cast and well acted. The characters are well rounded and innately human. While the drama keeps its light hearted feel throughout, there were a few emotional scenes that Tan Jian Ci (specifically) knocks out of the park. You really start to feel for his character.

Lost You Forever fans are in for a real treat as there are multiple LYF easter eggs scattered throughout the drama. The author of LYF is also the screenwriter of Filter. What a treat!

Tang Qi and Su Cheng Cheng start the drama with preconceived biases against each other from high school. She was physical phenom and he was the school's top academic student. They meet again as adults working together at a cosmetic company. Due to their biases against each other, there were little opportunities for the two of them to rewrite their relationship, until Su Cheng Cheng receives a magical filter bracelet that allows her to transform her physical appearance into other people, objects and later in the show, even project another appearance onto other people. This bracelet is not without its limitations which opens up a world of chaos and absolutely entertaining scenarios.

Don't let the reviews sway you. This drama gets you laughing until your stomach hurts, cringe due to it's ridiculous antics, think twice about it's commentary about beauty and self love and fall deeply in love with Tang Qi and Su Cheng Cheng. This drama is amazing and well worth the watch.

Overall, The Filter is a heartwarming and entertaining drama that encourages self-acceptance. If you enjoy unique stories with a mix of romance and humor, this is worth watching.

Tang Qi is a dedicated scientist-intelligent, kind, but socially awkward. He approaches life with logic, yet when it comes to love, he is clumsy and sincere. Tan CianJi delivers a charming and refreshing performance, making Tang Qi a lovable and memorable character. His interactions are both humorous and touching, adding depth to the story.

Tang Qi - A Unique Male Lead

Tang Qi is not your typical romantic hero. He is a brilliant scientist, deeply passionate about his work, yet socially awkward and inexperienced in relationships. Unlike many male leads who are confident and charismatic, Tang Qi is thoughtful, a bit clumsy in love, and genuinely kind. His character is well-developed, making him relatable and refreshing.

TAN does an excellent job portraying Tang Qi's quirks and depth. He balances the character's intelligence with an endearing innocence, especially in his interactions with Suo Zhangzhang. His awkward yet sincere approach to love makes for many heartwarming and humorous moments. Unlike cold, overbearing male leads often seen in dramas, Tang Qi is warm, caring, and emotionally open, which sets him apart.
