Exodus Towards Light

This animated short is essentially an animation of paintings, created using the limited animation technique, where most of the imagery remains static and only certain elements-like an eye-are animated. Sabin Balasa's art is often described as Romanticism with cosmic imagery, but based on what's shown in this film, I see stronger influences from Surrealism-perhaps it falls somewhere in between. Some of the imagery, combined with the eerie, almost unsettling music, creates a strange atmosphere that I can't say I enjoyed. There's a sense of deep-rooted symbolism here-much of which doesn't fully reveal itself-and no explicit plot. It feels more like an art installation harnessing the power of animated cinema.
