We'll Never Have Paris

The title of the review says it all really. Strong cast. Some very funny scenes and one liners. If you don't like Simon Helberg you'll hate it but I like him. He's a guy who will do anything for a laugh and I have to respect that.

Heldberg plays a man who has the emotional maturity of a 15-yr-old. He is a musician, he has a long-standing, very nice and dependable girlfriend. Then one day he starts to wonder if it is the right time to seal the relationship. He ends up doing a number of very questionable things and when he realizes he might lose his actions become even more erratic.

Because Heldberg is so good in his 'BBT' role I was curious to see him in something else. I watched it on Amazon streaming movies. Overall a very big disappointment, and especially the resolution. Nothing realistic at all.

This is not ranking high on comedy actually, it is mostly just passing time with a couple of good scenes here and there, but overall it is not that funny. I think the best parts are subtle ones, with small funny statements, or incidents and not the typical hurt yourself or crash into something that this has most of.

Simon Helberg has some way to go, but it is a good attempt it is just not as funny as I had expected from him. His part is really good, he is very insecure and messes up a lot of stuff, he plays his role very well. His farther played by Alfred Molina is also a good character. But I don't think the rest contribute much to the great parts of this movie unfortunately.

This is just trying so hard. They didn't give enough time for the characters to get established. They just jumped into it and expected you to like everyone. I still watched it all the way through...maybe I'm a sociopath.

It's not a bad movie nor a great one. Though it's a common plot, it has it's own uniqueness. I'm not totally OK with the casting though. But the music and the flow kept be bounded throughout.
