While ostensibly adopting the perspective of a kind and sensitive 12-year-old boy going through the wringer at the hands of bullies, “The Plague” leaves a bitter, chlorine-y taste in the mouth. Set at a water polo camp, this competently realised debut feature from American director Charlie Polinger has its cake and eats it, gleefully aestheticizing the brutal violence and braggadocio cultivated in that environment. As alarming as that sounds, its relentless formal play seems a sign of cinematic enthusiasm rather than anything more sinister — the work of a filmmaker delighting in the aesthetic and dramatic possibilities granted him by his subject.

Trina has finally let the weight of Spencer’s death lift, and she’s showing an interest in Pcu football star Kai on General Hospital. We knew it was coming. It’s not as if Matlock has been subtle about how many close calls Matty has had. Eventually, her luck was going to run out.

It’s just crazy to think that the jig might be up after all of Matty, Edwin, and Alfie’s hard work. Don’t tell me Matty kidnapping a dog was all for nothing.

Seether have announced their ninth studio album, The Surface Seems So Far, arriving September 20th. The lead single “Judas Mind” can be streamed now.

Beartooth have announced a 2024 world tour that includes a winter North American run. The news follows the release of the band’s fifth album, The Surface, which arrived this past Friday (October 13th).

The North American outing will kick off January 12th in Cincinnati and run through a March 14th show in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Support will come from The Plot in You, Invent Animate, and Sleep Theory.

A Live Nation pre-sale for the North American tour begins Tuesday (October 17th) at 10 a.m. Et via Ticketmaster using the code Vocals, followed by a general sale on Friday (October 20th). The cause of death has been revealed for 27-year-old “American Horror Story: Hotel” actor Harry Hains.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner reported his death was an accidental overdose due to fentanyl intoxication.

The actor died in January. He was also known for “The Oa,” “Sneaky Pete” and “The Surface.”

Haines’ mother, Jane Badler, who starred on NBC’s sci-fi series “V,” confirmed her son’s death in a heartfelt Instagram post in January. “On Jan 7 my beautiful son died,” she wrote. “He was 27 and had the world at his feet. Actor Harry Hains, who played a victim of Jeffrey Dahmer in American Horror Story: Hotel and made appearances on The Oa and Sneaky Pete, died Jan. 7 at age 27, according to his mother, actress Jane Badler.

The actress, who starred in both iterations of TV’s sci-fi series V, did not disclose her son’s cause of death but wrote on Instagram that Hains had “struggled with mental illness and addiction.”

“On Jan 7 my beautiful son died,” Badler wrote on the Instagram post last night. “He was 27 and had the world at his feet. But sadly he struggled with mental illness and addiction. A brilliant spark shone bright too short a time .. I will miss you Harry every day of my life.”

A chance meeting in the middle of Lake Michigan forces two desperate strangers, each on the brink of disaster, to confront their worst fears in The Surface. Mitch (Sean Astin) begins this day with a visit to his mother, confined to a nursing home with dementia, before motoring out to sea in his late father's 70's era boat for a journey to the center of Lake Michigan. As he settles in for what he envisions as a solitary final ride, Mitch's vessel collides with the wreckage of a small plane, knocking off his propeller and stranding him in the midst of the vast body of water.

As the tiny boat drifts, Mitch discovers Kelly (Chris Mulkey), the plane's pilot, still clinging to the debris, and pulls the severely injured man out of the water.
