Okay, WHAT?!? One of the worst 1hour and 20 minutes of my life. What did I literally just watch? It's full of line reading, cheesy acting, and it doesn't even have any good kills!! If you're going to make a slasher movie, at least have bloody deaths!!! The acting is actually horrible.. like really, really horrible. The only decent actor/actress in this movie was Alex Fen's actress. She honestly seemed like the only actress/actor who seemed like she knew what her job was and how to do it. You can honestly tell that the majority of the actors have definitely never acted in a movie before. And Mickey Mouse doesn't even look like Mickey Mouse. Wtf?!
On a real note, the concept, the title, and the story had real potential; it could've been a modern horror twist to what we grew up on. However, the execution was like an air ball layup. From the first scene through the last scene, you can notice the lack of experience behind the camera. Furthermore, the camera work during ambient scenes swapped the horror with comedy instead. The slasher villain in this movie had a very poor origin story, his entrance made no sense; therefore making the movie further unrealistic and unenjoyable. It wouldve been better if inspiration was taken by the famous slasher villan "Michael Myers," to improve audience scare effect and suspense. Not to mention, the plot was very predictable. In conclusion, the idea behind the film had potential but wasn't the best production.
As a fan of mystery films, I was excited to see The Mouse Trap, hoping for an engaging story with clever twists. Unfortunately, the movie fails to deliver on nearly every front. The pacing drags, making the film feel far longer than it should, and the characters are so underdeveloped that it's hard to care about what happens to them.
The mystery itself is predictable, with no real surprises or moments of tension. Even the "big reveal" falls flat, lacking the cleverness or impact that a good mystery demands. Visually, the film is uninspired, and the dialogue feels wooden and unnatural, as though the actors themselves were as bored as I was watching it.
Overall, The Mouse Trap offers little more than a forgettable, uninspired experience that barely justifies its runtime. Save your time and look for a mystery that actually delivers on its promise.

"Mouse Trap" had a decent premise going in, and before reading any reviews, I went to watch the film. However, and after the first 5 minutes, I thought it was going to be enjoyable. But, It didn't work out that way. So, Let's review "Mouse Trap".
I really enjoyed the 2 girls performances, and the amusements were really cool looking. And the kids acted like kids, and they say some funny things. So that was fairly good. I also found the humour to work, the gimmick goes as follows, one of the girls has a crush on the boys, and then Is allowed out, despite having to work a longer shift. And she's never going to come back, despite promising to. Which was quite funny to me.
The Micky Mouse costume is also very good, and then he comes chasing, and the mystery thickens as to who he is. Alex's friends then ruin his attack, and celebrates her birthday with her. And we see a love triangle involved with Alex. I really enjoy the character-development, and the first 20 Minutes. But after that it de-rails and looses it's feet.
What I mean by this, Is the mystery is good. And a nice added touch, the effects are solid also afterwards. But the script takes a massive backwards step, and makes characters conversations either unatral or not a very good script to go off, and it just feels disappointing. Like it had promise. But the script and everything just Let's it down.
The detective on the left was decent, but the girl and the other's detectives lines were rather cringeworthy and lost all impact on the story. And the rest of the characters make silly decisions that don't really add up. Like how does someone sleep?, when a murderous rampaging lunatic is on the loose, I think he just forgot. The other characters have awkward moments. But they do have some clever and smart ideas.
They do realise one thing may work, which is the lighting effects the Mickey Mouse guy. And that works well. But for me it was wasted potential. It's more a 4 then a 3 but it should of been more. So, the question raised.
Would I recommend this film?
I would not, have a Cuppa instead and avoid it.

The worst film I've ever seen..and I've seen many recently. Appalling acting and shocking direction. Hard to categorise, neither a horror or comedy.
Plot Man in Mickey Mouse mask slaughters annoying teens who I don't give a Donald Duck about in an arcade... It makes The Winnie the Poo catastrophe look like Friday the 13th.
If you like watching drawn out shots of kids play air hockey or arcade games, then this is for you.
Surely there are better directors, screenwriters and actors out there. Surprised by Simon Phillips, his resume, even though not perfect has some above average performances.
Think the producers are taking the Mickey?
