A Film So Naive, It Thought Plot Was Optional.

Ah, Naadaaniyan. I walked in with the wide-eyed optimism of a cat chasing a laser pointer, especially with Ibrahim's debut and the faint hope that Khushi Kapoor had, like a software update, fixed some glitches since her last outing. Alas, the laser pointer led me straight into a brick wall.

Khushi, bless her heart, clearly tried. It was like watching someone assemble IKEA furniture without the instructions - some parts fit, others... well, let's just say they're now abstract art. The romantic and college scenes were flatter than a politician's apology. Her emotional scenes were a slight improvement, but still not enough to make me care.

Then there's Ibrahim. He's got the Saif Ali Khan starter pack, complete with the signature smolder and that 'I just woke up looking this good' vibe. But honestly, watching him was like looking at a vintage photo of Saif - nostalgic, but I was hoping for a fresh Polaroid, not a faded reprint. I wanted Ibrahim, not Saif 2.0.

The supporting cast? Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza, Jugal Hansraj, and Archana Puran Singh were like reliable sidekicks, always there to pick up the slack. But Mahima Chaudhary... oh, Mahima. It was like she'd swapped her acting chops for a really good nap. A long, forgetful nap. I was rooting for her comeback, but it felt more like a "come-back-later-when-you-remember-your-lines" moment.

The music? It was so bland, it's made me question my entire understanding of melody. And the direction by debutant Shauna Gautam was mediocre at best. As the captain of the ship, she should have steered the film more carefully instead of heading straight for an iceberg. On the bright side, Anuj Samtani's cinematography was like the only lifeboat that worked - visually pleasing, but ultimately, it couldn't save the whole sinking experience.

Overall, a solid 3/10. I was truly naadaan to have such high hopes. I've learned my lesson, though. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go rewatch something with a plot that doesn't feel like it was written on a napkin during a bumpy bus ride.

Absolutely dull, sheer torture to watch

Looks like the director has an obsession for Hollywood high school dramas. Trys hard to recreate the American high schoo experience in India, but fails. Doesn't feel real and doesn't connect with you. The pacing is slow and the story fails to take off. It all falls flat A highly talented supporting cast is completely wasted in this snooze fest. Khushi needs a lot of work on her acting and dialogue delivery. Ibrahim just looks lazy and expressionless throughout the film. The chemistry between the lead pair is literally non existent. Thankfully this didn't get a Full screen release. The current lot of Bollywood filmakers seem seem to be completely out of touch with the viewing public.

A Cringe-Fest of Overacting and Weak Storytelling

I rarely leave reviews, but Naadaniyaa was so unbearable that I had to warn others. From the very first scene, it was clear that this movie was going to be a disaster. The acting is not just bad (specially khushi kapoor) -it's over-the-top and cringe-worthy, making even the most basic dialogues feel forced and unnatural.

The storyline (if you can even call it that) is predictable and painfully slow. I gave it a fair chance, watching for about 30 minutes, but I just couldn't continue. There's no depth in the characters, the humor is flat, and the emotional scenes are laughably exaggerated.

Save your time and skip this one. There are plenty of better movies out there that won't make you regret pressing play.

This movie is great!

Another banger of a movie from the Alumni of the Karan Johar College of Nepotism and Shifaaras, this movie is inspiring.

I was comatose for 6 months in a hospital when my wife switched this on on Netflix to fall asleep to, suddenly it was so cringe and tryhard that it made my come out of my coma and get up to get the remote and exit out of the Netflix App and put something else on!

A must watch for comatose patients and dead people as it will definitely bring you back from the death and change the channel or app.

Saif Ali Khans kid tries too hard while Sridevis kid has no talent. Amazing!!!

7 mins - that's all you need to fathom

From the very first frame, Nadaanian sets the tone-and unfortunately, it's downhill from there. The film's lackluster start, accompanied by an unimpressive background score, does little to reel you in. Within the first five minutes, we're introduced to a so-called rebellious character, whose acting chops seem to rely more on their Instagram follower count than actual talent. It's a textbook case of style over substance.

If that weren't enough, the dubbing in Hindi raises an eyebrow. Why bother making a movie if it isn't rooted in an original language? The lack of authenticity feels like a disservice to both the story and the audience. Perhaps it's an ambitious attempt to reach wider audiences, but the execution leaves much to be desired.

In a world where cinema is celebrated as an art form, Nadaanian feels like a missed opportunity to truly shine.

Plastic faces

I dozed off after just 20 minutes while watching this movie. I'll probably give it another shot when I'm struggling to sleep, but honestly, it didn't grab my attention at all. Khushi Kapoor's acting felt more like overacting than anything else. She really needs to stop taking acting lessons from Arjun Kapoor-his style isn't helping her at all. The story itself is also the same old, repetitive tale about high school kids. It was just another cliched, stupid love story that added nothing new to the genre.

Writers really need to come up with something fresh and original because this movie felt like the same old stuff we've seen a million times before. It's just another recycled high school love story with nothing new to offer. But honestly, even though the plot was predictable and the acting wasn't great, it ended up working out for me. I had a really good nap during the movie! It was almost like the perfect sleep aid, so I guess that's one positive thing I can say about it. But still, a new story would have been nice.

Worst of the Bollywood!

Hats off to Dharma Productions for their guts to produce this movie, and further more for releasing it! Honestly, making a movie is one thing, but having the courage to release it knowing that it's a pathetic creation is another thing! I wish I could turn back time and recover my two hours, or if I could sue the production house for creating these kind of movies that damage the reputation of Indian Cinema.

Both, Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali, are at their natural worst, with terrible acting and horrible dialogue delivery. Not to forget other actors such as Sunil Shetty, Mahima Chaudhary, Dia Mirza, etc., all of whom look as if they were forced to act at gun point, with zero rupees on their pay check.

The only good point is that anyone who had concerns with nepotism doesn't need to be worried anymore. These horrible talents will only help us better appreciate those who are not from the Industry.

Nahh man!! Sorry didn't like it

As soon as the movie started, after 5-10 minutes I realized that it's going to be flop.

I am so bored after watching the movie ( i watched it , hopefully thinking it might pickup the pace after some time, which it didn't ) Writing a review for this movie feels like a tedious task . But want to save some time for other viewers, you won't enjoy it much unless you are locked in a room with nothing but except this movie on the TV.

However, personally I would prefer to not watch the movie in that scenario either and would like to spend my time thinking about genetically modifying the cows to fight the aliens . That will be more interesting and better use of my time than watching this movie. Thank you.

Modern Issue

Bollywood is famous for copying Hollywood and South movies.

However, this movie is something which does not do so. Seems like a Hollywood movie rather than a Bollywood movie.

The story is fresh, relatable and engaging. A young girl is forced to pretend to have a boyfriend due to her environment. This is an issue faced by many girls in the West, but I do not know about India.

This might be something incomprehensible to the older audience. Because the issue seems to be very related to our new age : such issues and such pressure have increased only in recent due the introduction of social media.

Kushi might not look like the typical Bollywood actress but her acting was spot on. She is a natural in front of the camera. She does not look like as if she is pretending. Ibrahim was not bad and he has the looks and the character : whether it is to look handsome or to portray the character of a young inexperienced boy, Ibrahim has it. Both of these actors fit the role well. The scene where Kushi and Ibrahim meets for the first time is well executed.

I highly recommend this movie to be dubbed in a foreign language and released in Europe and Australia. This clicks well with the foreign audience such as myself. This is the only Bollywood movie I liked after a long time.

Naadaniyaa brings a lovely story to the screen.

Life's been really tough lately with family issues and money problems. Watching Nadaaniyan was like taking a break from all that. For those few hours, I forgot about everything and just enjoyed the simple story. It has this rare quality that makes you feel like everything will work out somehow. Not because it gives you false hope, but because it reminds you that good moments still exist even in hard times. If you're going through something difficult, this film might not solve anything, but it will definitely make you feel less alone, like a small but much-needed reminder that life has its soft moments too.

Netflix & Chill

Those rating this movie 1 star or 10 stars are doing a disservice to movie reviewers. First off, this movie was not terrible - nor was it a masterpiece. It's what I would describe as: Netflix & Chill; a laid back film that can keep you entertained. Now to break it down...

The writing in this movie was terrible, so I can't even blame the actors for not performing exceptionally well. The writing did not flow well, was cheesy (in a bad way), and lacked depth in important scenes.

Khushi and Ibrahim did an average job of acting but I will admit that Khushi's acting during the intense, emotional scene with Mahima and Sunil impressed me. She did a great job in that scene.

The concept of the story was nothing new, but it has some freshness to it by adding the family dynamics and friendships in the mix. Again, the story could've been executed so much better if it wasn't for the dialogue/script, audio-dubbing quality, and the choppy scenes (who's the editor of this film? Fire him)

It's a light-hearted movie, not meant to be taken too seriously, and I think the movie aimed perfectly at that.

Worse teenage movie ever!

Ibrahim has the potential to make a name for himself in the film industry.

However, Kushi's acting feels unnatural and unconvincing. Her sister, Jahnvi, is much better! This movie is a waste of time and music is boring!

The storyline wasn't what I expected, and Kushi could work on her grooming and overall screen presence. She doesn't seem like the right fit for Ibrahim's first movie. Unfortunately, nepotism continues to dominate the industry, affecting the quality of films. It would be great to see more talented individuals getting opportunities, but finding the right candidates seems increasingly impossible these days!

Waste of time

Nadaaniyan is yet another disastrous product of Bollywood's obsession with nepotism, proving once again that talent takes a backseat to connections.

The film is downright painful to sit through-cringe-worthy dialogues, zero originality, and acting so wooden it feels like a high school drama gone wrong.

The writing is lazy, the direction uninspired, and the performances? Even worse. It's frustrating to see the industry sink to such lows, churning out films that nobody for while sidelining real talent.

At this point, it feels like mainstream Bollywood is actively sabotaging itself.

The audience deserves better, and it's time we stop rewarding mediocrity just because of big names attached to it.

Another Dharma Nonsense

I'm not sure whether I've outgrown such movies or if Dharma has truly mastered the art of making one bad film after another. Love stories are great, but only when they stay somewhat grounded in reality.

The problems with this movie begin right from the start another cliché rich girl, poor boy love story. It briefly touches on the "Ameeri-Ghareebi" (rich vs. Poor) contrast, but the writer seems to have forgotten about it midway. Instead, the film desperately tries to be a love story but gets lost along the way, throwing in unnecessary characters like Orry (or whatever his purpose was), which only highlights the director's lack of vision.

Scene after scene, the director showcases full capability to ruin a film despite having a good budget.

Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, fails to make any impression whatsoever. How clueless does one have to be to accept a role where showing off abs is prioritized over delivering a decent argument in a scene?

Khushi Kapoor needs better judgment in choosing films and certainly far better scripts than this.

All in all, this is a completely horrible, nonsensical flick made by people lost in their self-created fantasy world. In their attempt to craft a fairy tale, they have completely lost touch with reality, taste and most importantly movie making.

Worst movie

In the world of Bollywood comedies, Nadaaniyan is the kind of film that should have never left the drawing board. With a premise that seems to have potential, it falls flat in almost every aspect, leaving the audience not laughing, but cringing in disbelief. From its forced humor to its disjointed plot, Nadaaniyan is a chaotic and painful viewing experience that proves just how badly things can go wrong when a film is devoid of both direction and genuine creativity.

The movie attempts to juggle comedy with a dash of drama, but instead of creating an enjoyable experience, it ends up as a confusing mess. The plot revolves around a man caught up in a series of absurd situations that are supposed to be funny but only come across as ridiculous. The film starts with a basic premise that should have been easy to execute: misunderstandings, mistaken identities, and comedic chaos. However, instead of delivering clever humor or heartwarming moments, Nadaaniyan simply throws random absurdities at the audience, hoping something will stick. Unfortunately, nothing does.

The film's biggest downfall is its humor-or lack thereof. What should have been a series of lighthearted, funny moments quickly becomes a painful series of awkward gags that feel outdated and forced. The jokes, instead of being clever or subtle, are blunt and heavy-handed. It's the kind of humor that feels like it's trying too hard to get a laugh, and it doesn't help that the pacing of the jokes is off. The comedic timing, an essential element in any comedy, is completely missing. Rather than feeling spontaneous and fun, the humor in Nadaaniyan feels rehearsed and uncomfortable, as if the actors are reading lines they don't quite understand themselves. What's worse, the jokes often border on the offensive or cringe-worthy, making the audience wish they could fast-forward through the scenes.

The performances are no better. The lead actor, who is clearly trying to bring some charm and wit to his character, overacts at every opportunity. Rather than capturing the essence of a relatable or funny character, he spends the entire film shouting his lines, pulling exaggerated facial expressions, and gesturing wildly as if trying to force the audience into laughing. The supporting cast is equally uninspired. Instead of offering any relief from the chaos, they add to the confusion with performances that feel completely out of place. There's no chemistry between the characters, and none of them come across as believable or engaging. As a result, you're left feeling disconnected from the film and its characters, unable to care about their plights or the resolution of the story.

One of the more frustrating aspects of Nadaaniyan is its lack of a coherent narrative. The plot is all over the place, with a series of random events that barely connect to each other. What should be a carefully crafted storyline full of tension and comedy ends up feeling like a bunch of unrelated scenes stitched together haphazardly. The transitions from one scene to the next are jarring, and at times it feels like the filmmakers forgot to write any kind of natural progression for the characters. Just as you think the movie might be building toward something meaningful, it abruptly shifts into another direction, leaving the audience lost and disoriented.

Even the direction and cinematography fall flat. The director fails to bring any kind of vision or style to the film. Instead of guiding the actors and scenes in a way that enhances the story, everything feels rushed and unpolished. The pacing is uneven, with some scenes dragging on for far too long while others feel rushed and incomplete. There's no sense of rhythm or flow to the film, and this lack of cohesion makes the experience even more frustrating. The cinematography, too, is bland and uninspired. The visuals do nothing to add to the atmosphere of the film, and there's no attempt to make the film look visually appealing or engaging. The lack of creativity in the framing and shot composition only further emphasizes the movie's lack of care and attention to detail.

The music and sound design also fail to make an impact. The soundtrack is forgettable, with no memorable tunes or themes that stick with you after the film ends. The music, rather than enhancing the mood, feels like an afterthought-generic background noise that adds nothing to the overall experience. Even the sound effects, which could have been used to accentuate the humor, feel flat and out of place.

In conclusion, Nadaaniyan is a forgettable mess of a film. From its cringeworthy humor and disjointed plot to its over-the-top performances and lackluster direction, there's very little to redeem it. The movie fails to deliver on its comedic promises and ends up being a frustrating experience from start to finish. If you're looking for a fun, lighthearted film, you'll have to look elsewhere-Nadaaniyan is one comedy that doesn't even come close to hitting the mark.

Pathethic mindset of script writer

I lost interest in the movie the moment I saw the doctor being called a naukar and considered lower class. Does the scriptwriter even understand the value of a doctor?

First of all, I want to tell the scriptwriter that it would take at least four lifetimes for you to even become a doctor with that kind of mentality. Secondly, the day you become a doctor, you enter an upper class where no one else can belong except doctors. A businessman may earn money, but being a doctor earns you the highest level of respect along with financial stability. I don't know what world this scriptwriter is living in.

It takes 20 years of dedication to become a good doctor, sacrificing one's entire adulthood. While others are partying and traveling, doctors are studying relentlessly. Becoming a doctor requires immense personal sacrifices.

So, keep your pathetic mindset to yourself and don't spread poison to others. I was once a Bollywood fan, but things like this made me stop watching Bollywood movies long ago. Sometimes they disrespect God and religion; other times, they insult noble professions like doctors ,teachers and army . Bollywood can't seem to make a movie nowadays without disrespecting something.

Bollywood deserves this downfall and ya this movie sucks.

This movies scrpt was written by chat GPT i think.

Where do I begin. Unrealistic school, unrealistic acting and terrible script. I honestly thought this film was written by chat GPT, I think even chat GPT would write a better script if I'm being honest.

Ibrahim khan acting was somewhat bare able, but the actress has zero talent, I think she should have took some acting lessons before making a film. Good job I watched this on netflix and had the option to skip and turn it off, if this was in the cinema I think I'd suffer just to get my monies worth.

A story that had a uncompleted story line! Makes zero sense in the end! Absolutely flop! Bad film!

I watched Naadaniyaa just so my 1-star rating would be the most honest thing about this movie

Have you ever made a bad decision and realized it while you were making it? That was me watching Naadaniyaa. I knew it was going to be rough, but I thought, let's give it a chance.

Spoiler: That was a mistake.

The story moves at a very slow pace, the acting feels like they just got the script five minutes before filming.

This. Is. How. They. Were. Talking. In. The. Whole. Movie.

You can clearly see the actors struggling to show emotions, even in intense situations. You'll feel disconnected throughout the movie, as all you see are straight faces.

If you're looking for a lesson, here it is: Not every movie deserves your time. But, at least my 1-star rating is the most honest thing about this film.

A mesmerizing experience from start to finish!

Khushi Kapoor actually surprised me in Nadaaniyan with those emotional family scenes. I expected her to be wooden but she showed real feeling when portraying her character's struggles at home. That scene where she tries to mediate between her arguing parents had a genuine quality to it. She's definitely not the finished article yet and needs more experience, but you can see she's taking the craft seriously. It feels like she wants to prove herself beyond just being a star kid. If she keeps putting in the work and choosing roles that challenge her, she might develop into a solid actress over time.

A Refreshing, Cute & Feel-Good Rom-Com!

If you're a fan of butterfly-inducing romance, endearing teenage love, and that classic feel-good rom-com charm, Naandiyaan is a delightful watch! It's the kind of movie that brings a warm, happy smile and keeps you hooked with its innocence, fresh energy, and beautiful chemistry between the leads.

Romance & Chemistry:

The film captures the essence of young love in the sweetest way possible-playful, heartwarming, and full of those little moments that make romance feel magical. From stolen glances to dreamy song sequences, it brings back the nostalgic, pure love that we rarely see these days.

Performances:

Khushi Kapoor: In the lighter, more casual scenes, she sometimes goes a bit overboard, but when it comes to emotional and romantic moments, she delivers beautifully. Her chemistry with Ibrahim is natural, and she shines in the heartwarming moments.

Ibrahim Ali Khan: WHAT A STAR! His looks, his screen presence, that effortless charm, and even his dancing-everything is top-notch for a debutant. He's got that raw energy and natural charisma that make him a scene-stealer. Definitely one to watch out for!

The Insta Influencer Rebel Kid: A great addition to the story, bringing in a modern twist to teenage rebellion and social media-driven youth culture. This character adds a fun, quirky, and relatable element that resonates with today's audience.

Supporting Cast: Sunil Shetty's presence after so long is a treat-he brings gravitas and warmth to his role. Dia Mirza, as always, is elegant and a delight to watch. Jugal Hansraj was solid, and Mahima played her part well, complementing the story without overshadowing the leads.

Music & Vibes:

A romantic film is incomplete without good music, and Naandiyaan delivers! The songs are soulful, catchy, and add to the dreamy, love-filled vibe of the movie. You'll find yourself humming them long after the film ends.

Final Verdict:

Yes, both Khushi and Ibrahim are newbies, but that's exactly why they deserve a fair chance without the weight of nepotism-based criticism. They bring fresh energy, and their efforts show. The movie isn't trying to be groundbreaking-it's simply a sweet, enjoyable rom-com that makes for a perfect Friday evening watch. Lighthearted, romantic, and filled with cute moments, Naandiyaan is definitely worth watching. A great start for both the leads and an even greater watch for lovers of dreamy romance!

Star kids stay home

Not ok. Completely nakli.

They should stay to drugs and nepotism.

They cannot become stars just because their parents are/ related to drug lords. How many ratings can they purchase? For how long?

Story is sad Dialogues seems to be written by amateurs.

Choreography is poor.

Location is bad Music is sub optimal Songs are pathetic Singer are truly avoidable.

Actors are below par. Only sunil Shetty seems to be ok.

Can sleep through it Or keep it playing while doing something else. Everyone seems to have paid for making this mess of a project.

The theme of reels, false pretend, social media could have been used better if the actors were better.
