फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
It's really just not a funny show so far. There wasn't a single part in either of the first 2 episodes where I or my wife laughed out loud. The only entertaining character in the show really is Tyler Fischers. This was built up for so long and there was so much hype but it's just very disappointing. They might have been better off if the show was only 18-20 minutes instead of almost 30. The failure to land on the jokes makes those extra minutes that much more grueling. I really hope they're listening to the critiques and attempt to fix it. I'll keep watching the next few episodes to see if it gets better but so far I'm very disappointed.
I watched Ladyballers. I then visited my family and they all raved about it. I asked about specific scenes in the movie, they said "Oh I've only watched a clip or two, but the message of the movie is so true and on point! It's funny!" So I had them watch it. Afterwards, they were inches away from canceling their daily wire membership. They were appalled. Daily Wire rips into modern culture and foundry talks about Plato and the Great Gasby,
... fine. Show us what you think our culture needs more of. Show us the what a quality alternative looks like. This show has the same issue as Ladyballers, People seem to like the IDEA of the show more than the actual jokes, characters or story.
This will have its fans. And I'm happy for you. There are many shows and movies I love that I know are awful quality but it just scratches an itch I have. However this IS lacking in quality and holding DW accountable is important. They are young... but not THAT young anymore...and they seem to be investing a lot of energy and money into some rather poor quality products. And they'll keep doing it if they keep seeing people rave at the ideas alone. (I mean if you think about all the Disney defenders out there, they never defend the quality of these Marvel shows or Dr. Who Specials or Star Wars shows etc... they identify with the idea. Maybe let's hold "alternative" media to a higher standard than "this fits into my world view" and start looking for shows that actually deliver good stories, jokes, characters, music... anything really at this point.)
The animation in this is that really uninspired modern "adult cartoon" style that might as well be radio. There is no life breathed into them on a visual level. I remember internet cartoons in the early 2000's that had similar designs but way more inventive animation. The writing is... clunky to say the least. The plot is... there... but motives flip on a dime. I can't tell where people stand on any given plot point. The family dynamics aren't fun to watch. You can have families that don't get along, but you should still feel what drew these people together in the first place. These are joke avatars. The voice acting doesn't do any favors here either but I think it's more of a directing issue than the voice talent themselves. It's hard to be edgy when your character look, sound and feel stale. The whole show is lacking energy and as I mentioned before, it's lacking passion.
Eventually this road DW is heading down is going to burn out people who aren't hungry for ideas that were dated even back when they were relevant. This show has potential to be good, but that just means it hasn't done anything good yet. I really hope this finds it's stride but I won't be tuning in to find out.

I already knew from watching the trailer, several issues. One is the terrible casting, unoriginal plot, and cringeworthy jokes. I only give it a credit because it features Patrick who played Puddy on Seinfeld and Joe on Family Guy. But Patrick? If you're familiar with Netflix, you'll know many of their original adult animated series (with a few exceptions) have awful taste in humor including Hoops and Paradise PD. Now, if an 11- to 14-year-old teen, you might find these shows enjoyable and laugh, and if so, Mr. Birchum is all yours but for adults, this show is a mere exception to the rule of "humor is subjective", it's just not there.
This was the least funny animated sitcom I've ever watched. I was waiting for jokes to hit, but the monotone voice acting and pace left stale delivery. DailyWire has great ideas, but I find myself extremely disappointed with the final products when they release.
I thought Mr. Birchum was supposed to be a Ron Swanson-esque character, a no-nonsense manly-man with a soft and charming side you see peak out every now and again. I just found Adam Carolla's raspy voice hard to listen to and the character of Mr. Birchum was too much of a Facebook comment section boomer.
Better screenwriters would really help. All in all, I probably won't be watching this show.

This show is so awkward. As soon as it starts, the shoddy animation and ugly character designs are instantly apparent. Also, all the voice acting is slow and poorly paced. It feels like someone put a normal cartoon on 85% speed, as if it's slowing down everything to pander to an imagined low IQ audience.
One thing to note, is that it's clear that star and creator Adam Coralla, is just using this show to air out his grievances with the modern world. Every situation is Corolla making up some straw-man figure and sardonically mocking them. It's a sad power fantasy. There's literally a guitar sting when a character mocks the Green New Deal, it's embarrassing. Carolla even writes in a black-friend character whose sole job is to agree with everything Mr Birchum says. The theme song is a shameless rip-off of 'King of the Hill', and its animation style is like a super-low-rent 'F is for Family'.
'Mr Birchum' feels about 3 decades too late. All the jokes about downtrodden and tired teachers were done better in 'Daria'. Mr Birchum is just a duller Mr DeMartino, and the daughter is just a rip-off of Louise from 'Bob's Burgers'. The comedy is akin to a wine-mum minions meme. All the jokes are derivative and lazy, there's even a cat-on-the-internet joke and a DMV gag! Despite thinking that it's edgy and offensive, 'Mr Birchum' is less offensive than all the shows it's ripping off. Even the pathetic 'Lady Ballers' had more nerve than this show. You're more likely to be offended by an episode of 'Futurama' than this dreck.
The episodes are too long 25+ minutes is way too much for what this show is. The fact that they didn't cut it down to 15 or even 22 minute chunks just shows how overly confident and arrogant this project is. A smarter, more mature creator would have the wherewithal to cut the weaker jokes and keep the comedy short and snappy. There's a reason adult swim episodes are 11-15 minutes. How does Carolla still not understand this after a career in comedy?
It pales in comparison to 'Drawn Together', the best thing Corolla was ever a part of, in terms of humour and transgressive-ness. 'Drawn together' is a very progressive show, so I wonder if Carolla feels a bit insecure that DT will be his main legacy.
This whole experience is just sad and cringe. It's the tv equivalent of the "old man yells at clouds" joke from 'The Simpsons'.
