I totally agree with "almost a good movie" . This was supposed to be a romance but the writers made it about 2 bickering women, and ruined the movie, I strongly suggest not using this {these} writers again. This movie had everything going for it. Highly anticipated sequel, great acting, great location shots, and a very promising romance story, then it was destroyed by bad writing. It is a disappointment to see such a wonderful story destroyed by the ridiculous bickering of two older women, each of whom should have known better. I have been reviewing movies for over 50 years on various media, and have seldom seen such bad writing.
Okay maybe an unpopular opinion but I found this movie much more realistic and better than the previous one. I don't usually watch such genre of movies but liked the first one, and so was excited for this one too. I'm glad I didn't find it disappointing. I was scared abit as usually sequels don't do better.
Here we can get some life lessons, and learn how to manage different relationships of life. It was also sweet, and cute. Expected ending but overall liked it. The acting looked so real too. The handsome hero/prince looked more charming here, haha.
I think if they make another sequel of the movie where they have the royal wedding and how they struggle to lead the royal life and manage their relationship, it will be good too. A complete set of the fairytale will it be then.

Why does there always have to be a ridiculous female character? The lead's mother is totally lacking in any social graces and manners. Who shows up as a guest to a royal home, and expects their holiday traditions to be followed? And shows up with a huge ornament the daughter made when she was 10, and expect it to be placed on the top of the tree?
Why is the actor's hair always so fake? The actress who plays Olivia's mother is a woman of a certain age, but they dyed her hair shoe polish black. Then neglected to use any makeup on her. She looks like a ghost. Her natural hair is lovely, why not leave her looking normal?
This movie could have been so cute and charming. But the odd way they handled the mother's character pulled me out of the story in every scene she was in.

Disappointing.
Maybe a sequel to "A Royal in Paradise" wasn't such a good idea after all.
I wanted to like this movie a lot, especially because it starred two Australians in Rhiannon Fish and Mitchell Bourke, and was developed by an Australian production company.
But the truth is, it fell flat. The first one begged for a sequel and I'm sad that this is what we got. Rhiannon Fish does her best with the material she has, but the writing is terrible and most of the scenes not involving Fish's Olivia and Bourke's Prince Alexander, whose chemistry is wasted in this movie, were cringey.
If there's a third instalment - and it seems like, based on the ending, there will be - I hope it's with different (and better!) writers.
