The Breaking Point

On the whole wooden acting and a disjointed/unrealistic story full of negative stereotypes ruin what had the potential to be a good movie. The current rating is unrealistically high and doesn't represemt the film appropriately.

I went to the Red Carpet Premier of the Breaking Point in June at the Linden Wood Theater in Brooklyn NY. It was an excellent film and I especially like the D.A. and Sean Nelson was funny in this film. The Producer James Hunter put together an excellent action-filled film. I give this film an A. Jame Hunter had great actors and actresses in this film. I look to see more films from James Hunter. I really enjoyed the Red Carpet event as well. The photographer was great with taking the pictures and I also got to meet the actors and actresses from the Breaking Point. It was an honor and pleasure to see James Hunter as I have known him since he was a young boy. God Bless him.

This movie came up in a search for 8.0 or higher rated movies, but obviously associates of the director and his mother have left the three reviews so far. The acting is poor and script isn't doing them any favors. The movie as a whole is unintentionally funny. The scenes and exchanges that are supposed to be tense are completely devoid of drama - the actors deliver lines as if it's their first time seeing the script. The video quality is such that it appears to have been recorded on someone's phone. I'll give them credit for multiple takes and camera angles in a single scene, but that's really the only attention to detail evident in this production.

I went to the premiere that was held recently at an AMC theater in Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida not knowing what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised. Breaking Point is a very well put together independent film. I give the cinematography and the lighting an A. I give the director an A for how effectively he was able to tell the story. I also really liked how cleverly the voice-over was implemented throughout the movie. It had many entertaining moments that elicited quite a few loud laughs from the entire audience. The movie looks like a big budget film, which I did not think was possible with such a low budget independent film. The vast majority of the acting was really good. The movie as a whole is very intriguing and keeps you drawn in throughout. Last but not least, I absolutely LOVED the twist at the end, and the score. I will be following these filmmakers very closely because judging from Breaking Point,I can only surmise that their best is yet to come.

All this wrapped into (or hidden behind) a lame rap atmosphere. But nothing much in terms of being entertaining, diverting or else. Difficult to follow who is what and get somewhat interested in what happens next. And stereotypes abound...
