You'd think you'd like to see luxury home makeovers. That's true but only if the host doesn't make the cameras focus on her most of the show. With her Kim Kardashian vocal fry voice the host annoys and frustrates you; I turn volume down. Also when you should only be hearing a voiceover while they show a lot of home images they instead show her sitting posed and pretty in a chair talking. It's all about her. It's all about becoming famous and hogging all the camera time. I'll tape the show and fast forward to the end just to see what she does with rich people's wasted money. But I feel like I've already lost an hour of my life I can't get back. Probably won't even tape it. Will decide.
House of Ali is the ultimate blend of high drama and flawless design, and it's all thanks to Ali, the lovable diva who commands every episode with style and sass. She is unapologetically herself, and that's exactly why I love her. From the moment she walks onto a project site, you know you're in for a wild, fabulous ride. When the electrician accidentally breaks a light fixture during installation, Ali's first response isn't frustration-it's, "Is anyone bleeding?" That's Ali.
Critics are missing the point. Ali and her team aren't just designers-they're characters who bring humor, heart, and a little diva magic into every transformation. She's not here to blend into the background; she's here to steal the show, and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. Her bold choices, both in design and attitude, are what make her unforgettable.
Ali's over-the-top reactions and diva energy add so much fun to the process. She's got a larger-than-life personality that could easily overshadow the work she does, but somehow it doesn't. Instead, it amplifies the magic she creates in every home she touches. The show is about more than just renovations-it's about embracing who you are, quirks and all. And Ali does that in spades.
If you want a design show that's as entertaining as it is inspiring, House of Ali is a must-watch. Ali's unapologetic fabulousness is the show's secret sauce, and I'm here for every single moment of it.

I want to know who the idiot was that thought giving this woman her own show was a good idea? This designer clearly must be watching the Kardashians, because she talks just like them. I can barely listen or watch any video of the Kardashians because of the annoying way they talk. And now this young designer think she is just like them. I don't know if this designer is talented. She is so unlikable it's painful to watch the first episode. It's hard to understand how a client could have one meeting with her and think they wanna work with her. I would be shocked if she was given a second season. Who the hell would watch it?
What a waste of time watching this show. The main character prima donna is so annoying and focused on herself that whatever is highlighted in the show is stolen by the princess sitting on her throne. I thought I was watching a So Cal Valley Girl reality show. The earlier review hit the nail on the head. So uninspiring. Thumbs down all the way. I wish could post something on the HGTV site but couldn't find an area to do that. Hopefully the producers see these comments and take whatever action is required to cancel this drivel. Where is Sarah Richardson when you need her. She is real design television.
Her affectations, voice, mannerisms and attempts to be relevant just fall so flat and trying too hard. Her designs could be beautiful but can't get past the overly fake, vocal fry, "uptalk" that just makes her come across as far less intelligent and capable than she very likely is. When many reviews say "try the show on mute"... Yikes. I wish her the best as a Cdn designer and hope she takes this fairly consistent feedback to heart. She is way better than she presents herself. I struggled with a star review here - her designs are worth more than 3 stars but can't get past the overly affected mean girl persona....
