Baltimore

Since there are reviews stating that this movie is boring, I thought I would explain why it's not. Boredom is self imposed, and Baltimore is certainly slow. However, the acting is good enough and the production is at a high level. I've always liked Imogen, yet in Baltimore she does shine, she's intense, insecure and complicated. Imogen does demand enough attention to overshadow Tom Vaughan-Lawlor's great presence and acting chops. This is not an action movie, it's an exploration into the mindset and journey of Rose Dugdale, so it's leans closer to a "dynamic" documentary. I can't find anything wrong with this movie. If you have the patience it's quite intriguing...

A great film dramatising real historical events! Imogen Poots is a genius actress and manages to speak English with a perfect French accent, as well as Aristocratic RP, in addition to some Irish Gaelic! We get great cinematography and production design! The story is told in a nice surreal way in a non-chronological order! One might say, this is a great example of modern day British/Irish nouvelle vague if the term can be applied to contemporary cinema. The film explores important topics and is steeped in left wing politics such as socialism, republicanism and feminism. It is delightful and it has minimal violence compared to most contemporary films, especially dealing with the IRA, which is probably the reason why not many people watched it. Adorable! Thank you, Imogen and the team!

We need more strong female leads in films these days. Women who speak up who stand up and do not do the whole "women should be seen but not heard". I think this film is excellent and well made. Story line is fabulous. I love Imogen Ive seen her in other films she is a force to be reckoned with. Please if you have any doubts hear me out im. I am a very critical movie goer and I wouldn't bother with a review if this wasn't worth it... So give it a chance and watch this true story be shown in its authentic form. I will be fair. The only reason I wanted to watch this film was because of Imogen Poots being in it as ive always liked films shes been in and her acting is my favourite that this film has to offer. She plays rose. A former hairess and someone that was married off to a guy when she was young. She never really enjoyed the privolleged life growing up and as result and the rising conflicts in irland it makes her side with them and turn to a rebelious side, the whole resulting in a raid on a mansion that we snippets of throightout. I think if they had done the raid as one piece it would have been better. Its a slow burner but does have something to offer, I just cant as a whole say that I overlly enjoyed this.

I struggled to get through this film. The actors did the best they could with the script, but the screen play seemed to drag and focused on the lead character's mental state too much. I recognize that the movie was about Rose Dugdale, but the film would have been more engaging and enjoyable if it centered on the heist itself. In fact, the movie's title was originally called Baltimore, which was the location of an IRA safe house. Had the story been centered more on Baltimore, and not capturing Rose Dugdales daily life, I may have liked it better. Unfortunately, I found myself bored and uninterested.
