A historian returns to her father’s hometown to see the Aurora Borealis but finds much more in Christmas Under the Northern Lights on Gaf.

Both Great American Family and Hallmark Media are filling the headlines with Christmas movies leading fans to get fully into the holiday spirit. In the latest case, Jill Wagner (Lioness) shares the spotlight with Jesse Hutch, while spending Christmas Under the Northern Lights on Gaf.

Jill is taking a break from her current role as executive producer and military shooter in Lioness, to go back to a role that made her popular with fans, the official holiday rom-com. Read on to find out more about this upcoming holiday movie which is sure to be full of colorful skies.

Carlos PenaVega and Alexa PenaVega will lead Great American Family’s “Love at the Kettle,” set to debut as part of the network’s Christmas lineup at the end of 2024. “Love at the Kettle” (working title), written by Horace Priester, is executive produced by Mario Lopez, Mark Roberts and the PenaVegas; it is directed by Brian Herzlinger.

The pair will play high school friends who reunite at the holidays as she returns home and enlists him to help her write a song to win back her ex.

Per the press release, “As the two reunite for the first time in a decade, they embark on a Christmas journey down memory lane, and soon realize true love may be closer than they thought. The heart of the movie centers on Jack’s role with The Salvation Army, and Bella soon finds herself inspired by his devotion and passion to a life of doing the most good.

When Calls the Heart Season 10 ended with what can only be described as a tease about Lori Loughlin’s return as Abigail Stanton Now there are questions about whether or not fans would get their wish during Season 11.

In a new interview with TV Insider, Erin Krakow, who headlines the Hallmark hit and serves as an executive producer, admitted that she would love for Loughlin to return as Abigail.

Sadly, it doesn’t sound like a return is in the cards soon, with Krakow being cautious about getting “people’s hopes up too high.”

“Abigail does not currently return in Season 11, and I hope that doesn’t feel like a bait and switch for anyone when they see Gowen go to her door at the end of Season 10,” Krakow affirmed, before teasing how Gowen will navigate the aftermath of that development.

“It is more about Gowen’s journey to self-discovery and self-forgiveness.

With the temperatures continuing to drop and the countdown to Christmas well underway, it’s time to cozy up on the couch and enjoy another Great American Family film. The network kicked off its slate of holiday programming last month, and fresh titles premiere often. The newest addition to the lineup is “A Christmas Blessing,” which stars Lori Loughlin, James Tupper, and Jesse Hutch. Catch the premiere on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 8 p.m. Et on Great American Family. It’s not just about those repeats of A Christmas Story on TNT anymore.

Multiple linear channels and streamers are getting into the holiday spirit this month and next by dropping original Christmas movies, as well as old favorites and one-off holiday specials. As usual, Hallmark has wall-to-wall flicks planned until the end of the month, but Great American Family, Lifetime and BET have their own original slates as well to help ring in the new year.

Lori Loughlin and her daughter Olivia Jade are starring in their first-ever ad campaign together, teaming up with Steve Madden for the “Perfect Pairing” campaign.

The campaign is being released four years after the college admissions scandal. Lori was accused of paying $500,000 to Rick Singer and Key Worldwide Foundation to falsely portray her daughters as recruits for the University of Southern California crew team, despite never having played the sport.

Lori served two months in federal prison after pleading guilty to a conspiracy charge and her husband Mossimo Giannulli served five months.

With all of that behind them, Lori is making her return to holiday programming in Great American Family’s new movie A Christmas Blessing and she’s starring in the new campaign with Olivia.

Designer Steve Madden himself addressed the family’s scandal in an interview about the campaign.

Lori Loughlin was written out of Hallmark Channel’s When Calls the Heart amid the college admissions scandal back in 2019, but will she be back on the show??

The actress got dropped by the network after her arrest and they cut all ties with her amid the ordeal.

In 2021, she reprised her role from the show, Abigail Stanton, in the spinoff When Hope Calls on Great American Family for it’s second season.

Now, the When Calls the Heart co-creator is opening up about the possibility of Lori returning to the flagship series.

John Stamos is speaking about the moment he learned about the infamous college admissions scandal.

In his memoir, If You Would Have Told Me, the actor speaks about the moment he heard of the scandal and how Lori Loughlin, his Full House costar, was involved.

"Lori Loughlin continues to be a cherished friend to this day," John wrote, adding:

"We've weathered storms together and stood by each other's sides despite life's hurdles. We've seen each other at our worst."

Stamos recalled reaching out to Loughlin as the scandal broke, with the Aunt Becky star saying her phone may have been bugged.

"No matter how hard she was hit, how desperate everyone was to cancel her and throw her in with the pile of brutal criminals," John added.

"She stood fast, protecting her daughters from the mud hurled at them day after day after day."

Stamos added his thanks for having such a lifelong friendship.

Before leaping to Lori Loughlin’s defense, John Stamos in his new memoir (order it here) reveals that he was on the phone with his Full House costar as the infamous college admissions imbroglio became national news.

In March 2019, TV’s Aunt Becky was implicated in Operation Varsity Blues, eventually resulting in a two-month prison sentence, a $150,000 fine and 100 hours of mandated community service.
