An endearing independent Australian film set locally in our backyard Sydney. The film draws upon the director's own experience as an independent filmmaker, with lighthearted elements of romcom in between. The casting is diverse and that makes me feel proud as an Australian.
I saw the premiere with my fiancée at our local cinema in Melbourne and it was a memorable experience. We gained valuable insight when we met the director Hopwood and lead actor Hogben in the Q&A after the show. We were inspired by their passion as creatives and cannot wait to see what is next in store. Keep up the great work!

A sweet movie about friendship, childhood dreams and fulfilling your ambition. If you've ever had a creative dream that you wished you'd fulfilled this film might just tug at your heartstrings.
The friendship between the two lead female characters drives the story. We have all experienced that level of discomfort when we fall out with a friend.
In the best rom-com style this movie takes you on an adventure with quirky characters.
Shot in some of the most beautiful locations in Sydney that make you sigh at its natural beauty.
It features one of Lex Marinos' last film performances and he makes you laugh and squirm with discomfort.
Take the time to watch a cheery movie about friendship, kindness and love, after all it's what the world needs more than ever.

It's Our Time has a strong visual polish, with cinematography that's clean and professional. Unfortunately, the story doesn't hold up. The writing feels flat, with minimal conflict and dialogue that often reads more like introspection than active storytelling.
The central character - a struggling filmmaker - mirrors the film's real-life creator so closely that it risks feeling more like autobiography than drama. While the romantic subplot shows slightly more chemistry than in past efforts, it still doesn't rise to cinematic standards.
Despite its good intentions and important message, the film struggles to connect due to weak structure and underdeveloped stakes.
