Chris Huo's "The Comeback" is a Hong Kong crime action flick that had me dozing off a few times. The plot centers on Uncle Hua, a well-respected guy in his community, who finds himself in hot water when the local Qinglong Gang starts tearing down the old street for real estate. Things take a turn when Uncle Hua discovers six bodies, seven passports, and some guns hidden in the walls of his antique shop, which leads to him being chased by a shadowy group run by Ajie.

The storyline feels pretty tangled and all over the place, making it hard for viewers to really get into it. The characters, including Uncle Hua, don't have much depth, which makes it tough to feel any real connection with them.

The action scenes are nicely choreographed, but they don't really bring anything fresh to the table. The cinematography and editing are visually appealing with bright colors, but the pacing of the film is pretty uneven.

While it might entertain die-hard fans of the genre, it probably won't stick with you for long.

Incredibly silly action movie. If you think having small kids beat up adult gangsters is funny then you might love this movie. There is even a Bugs Bunny style dynamite scene. If they were trying to make a serious action movie then they failed completely. It's really hard to take anything in the movie seriously. The whole thing looks low-budget with most of the movie taking place on one street intersection which is an obvious movie set. Not really any suspense here since everything is played for laughs. The plot is generic enough to put you to sleep. I think it was something about bad guys wanting a USB stick...

In Hong Kong cinema, Simon Yam has always been a box office guarantee, and he didn't disappoint. Director Suiqiang Huo made good use of Simon's experienced and agile performance, pairing it with the ruthlessness and self-interest of Andy On, a new-generation actor. While the gunfights might not be traditionally realistic, they used animation to depict the modern technology battles, offering a fresh perspective for the audience.

I realized that even gangsters employ high-tech weaponry in real-life confrontations, not just the traditional hand-to-hand combat. They use drones and even customized rockets for precise strikes. Credit goes to the screenwriter too for injecting suspense into the story, leaving us guessing about the plot twists. The overall flow is well done, making it suitable for a big-screen cinematic experience.
