Dry Day

I watched the movie with lot of expectations as our jitu bhaiyya is the hero of this film. However, the movie turned out to be quite boring in the end. The topic was good but couldn't be justified. Overall the movie looked as if it was directed very casually. The movie looked confused! It didn't had any strong flavour of humour, emotion, action, drama or anything else. Maybe a mix of everything. Jitu bhaiyya was good but couldn't be utilised properly. Anu ji is a great actor and always impresses. Rest of the actors were substandard and unable to do justice with their roles. The director thought to carry the whole film on jitu bhaiyya and Anu Kapoor ji's shoulders but failed. I'll not call the movie disaster but a boring one. I had high hopes but shattered completely. It's a okayish movie and can be skipped if you have other priorities in life!

I think audience is more inclined towards negative content as opposed to something that showcases social value. The film is about fight against alcohol and its impact on society especially rural areas . Since majority of the population have embraced alcohol I am not surprised about negative reviews. Any film that glorifies violence, misogyny and sexuality is watched by majority of the public. The audience are being programmed and are averse towards positivity. What is wrong with this film? It has good storyline, great performances, engaging screenplay yet people don't seem to like it. They like films where protagonist chops people off without the fear of law. I wonder where the society is heading. Such films must be encouraged.

Those who have seen the old Bihar means the Bihar before alcohol was banned. They will like the movie.

The biggest positive aspect of the movie is that it has the full flavor of countryman. If you watch the movie, you will feel like you are in Bihar. But the movie did not stand up because of the bad storyline. Very messy script. But the movie could have been better.

Jitendra kumar is very good actor but his personality doesn't go well with the character of this movie. The movie is too loud at some places. The success rate would have increased if it had a more funny twist.

But Annu Kapoor is different from everyone. As well as good. The script did not hinder his performance.

In the movie, the good side is less and the bad side is seen more.

The central theme is good.

But it fails to elicit the emotional response from the audience. Let alone the twisty plot with excessive abusive language.

Plot has significant loopholes in multiple characters and plot points. For example, Sattu joining the movement for far too long. Funding from Balram. Dauji's public rebuttal followed by no course of action by the public which happens to attack Gannu on arrival.

In terms of acting, few actors went over board while most felt real.

The film has good music scores.

Overall, I appreciate the hard work that must have been put by everyone to make this film but the public rating is justified in terms of the short comings of the film.

I would be surprised if you leave the theatre inspired or changed. Rather you might have mixed feelings and are left perplexed.
