Unholy Song

I went and watched this film and it is a terrific film for a Indie low budget horror its not a Slasher horror but a psychological horror movie with a unique story of a person who becomes possessed which turns Roxanne into a Witch that does nothing but abuse her brother until her brother kills her but her spirit gets trapped in a tape and no spoilers but she gets released and and all hell breaks loose. So they devise a plan to try to get the witch back in the tape in trying to do so she possesses more people to do her bidding. This movie is well worth seeing if you are a psychological Horror Fan. A great film could end up being a new horror franchise can't wait for the sequel.

But for originality, characters and execution... it's a 1st rate winner! The film's website is already touting an upcoming UNHOLY SONG 2 - so I think we're witnessing the launch of a powerful new horror franchise!

It blends psychological horror with unsettling beauty and grabs you from the very opening frame. It's eerie atmosphere, intricate storytelling, and haunting cinematography kept me glued until the very end.

The narrative unfolds in fever dream and will immerse you into a world where reality and delusion intertwine. Night's direction easily mastered a story filled with tension and shocking moments filled with an ever-present sense of unease. The cast delivered a raw and compelling performance, that drew me deeply into the film's unsettling mystery.

I'm a horror fan but not always into witch movies, but something about the trailer stood out to me. Unholy Song is a creative story where the writing does a solid job of creating suspense, scary moments, and throwing in some funny parts, too. The movie's atmosphere is eerie with some interesting characters. The lead and supporting cast I think gave it their all and were very memorable, some smaller characters at the end were not as memorable, however. Only 1 scene towards the beginning felt slow but then picks up quickly and flows very well into the plot twists and gore. The witch is crazy scary and the ending left me thinking about a lot of possibilities.

This movie caught me off guard with the plot and how everything unfolded. The cast works well together and I loved the lead actress's performance! I was impressed with the comical characters and the small details throughout the movie. The witch was terrifying and was a fantastic performance as well! I was a bit terrified going to bed after this movie after seeing the monsters in this movie.

If you're looking for a different kind of witch movie without an overkill of CGI and that feels more realistic, I would highly recommend this review. The ending left me wanting to see more, so I hope they continue this in some way.
