TenPuru -No One Can Live on Loneliness

Tenpuru: No One Can Live on Loneliness was a chore to watch. Akemitsu's attempts to escape his dad's toxic legacy fell flat. His indecisiveness was exhausting, and the supporting cast was one-dimensional. I craved depth and introspection, but got whiny angst instead. By episode 8, I skipped scenes, and skipped the finale altogether. 1/10, a disappointing, aimless show. If you want substance, look elsewhere. TenPuru starts with an interesting premise-a young man forced to live in a temple full of beautiful women after a series of unfortunate events. While it has the setup of a classic harem rom-com, it quickly becomes clear that the series prioritizes fan service over genuine romance or character development.

The protagonist's situation could have led to some fun, chaotic interactions, but the story rarely leans into actual harem or romantic tension. Instead, it relies heavily on exaggerated reactions and skimpy outfits, making it feel more like a parade of titillating moments than a cohesive narrative. The humor is hit-or-miss, and the characters, while occasionally charming, don't get enough depth to make their relationships compelling.

If you're looking for mindless fun with some ecchi comedy, TenPuru might entertain you. But if you were hoping for a meaningful harem or romance, you'll likely be disappointed. It's not terrible, but it's hard to ignore how much potential it wastes.

Tenpuru was a pleasant surprise for me.

I admit that my expectations were not very high when I started. In recent years, the harem genre has not surprised me much, as it seems that the authors are doing their best to give their least effort (it's ironic, but it is true).

Here, however, I found a very funny anime. I loved the way the author develops the personality of each of the characters. Unlike other anime of the same genre, such as The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses, where the personality of each of the girls does not fully exploit, here everything works well.

Each character has a past, illusions, talents, and insecurities that make them unique, and in a few chapters, you will get hooked on each character.

The story is not a big deal, however, I emphasize that, once again, it was sought to narrate something interesting and not just fill chapters with garbage comedy.

Not to go on too long, Tenpuru is a simple, light, but above all, fun anime. Fans of the genre will not be disappointed.

THE GOOD. Good character development.

THE BAD. The protagonist's "chastity" can be sickening and annoying at times.

NO DOUBT. You will find CUTE girls in this anime.

Akemitsu Akagami is worried that he will grow up to be a womanising pervert like his father. To avoid this fate he decides to become a monk at the Mikazuki Temple. He believes it to be a male only order but it turns out the other residents are female! Due to his father's debts he finds himself doing much of the work around the temple. With all the women around it is hard for him to keep his thoughts pure; especially when he keeps getting in 'awkward situations' with them.

From the start it is clear that this is going to be a fan-service heavy ecchi series. If that is what you want it is rather fun. There are plenty of laughs to be had as well as a fair bit of suggestive material; thankfully this wasn't strong enough to require the obvious censorship that detracts from so many series. The basic plot is fun enough; it reminded me of the superior 'Love Hina' at times although it lacked that series more wacky elements. The characters are entertaining enough. Overall I'd say this is hardly a must see but it is certainly fun enough to watch once if you are in the mood for this sort of show.
