The best Indonesian movie i ever seen!!!
Romantic comedy, heart mealting, the unique storyline ever, you could enjoy the storyline, twist between movie making process and real story, the idea of this movie is simple, but the way this movie show the idea will bring you a new experience and insight how to learn about others emotional situation, symphatic with exciting script
Casting in this movie is really great, all character is fit each others and in main character, both of them had love story in another great sequel movie as well
Black and white movie but so colourful in reality.

An excellent Indonesian film in meticulously combining a cheesy melodrama romance movie with a more artistic film. They bring both a popcorn-eating-couch movie and a film shown in award shows, by making the plot quite simple for general audiences to grasp, but also presenting cinematic techniques for critics to enjoy. This combination is prominent in how they add explanations of technical things in the dialogues. Which is also another amazing thing they succeed in, making exposition enjoyable.
Although the slow tempo might be off putting for some people, they still managed to make the audiences hooked with the natural dialogues and acting. Furthermore, they put many references to the real life, thus adding comedies by breaking the fourth wall. Indonesian audiences would understand the references, however, international audiences need to do research to understand them. Perhaps they didn't think about this film reaching the international audiences.
Bottom line is this film is splendid, very light and visually pleasing film. I highly recommend it!

A movie within a movie, within a movie! Something to that effect in this little gem about the crazy process of movie making, and how a screenwriter deals with the creative approach by involving his personal life, and those of others with great consequences.
It ultimately ends up as a love story, but without the Indonesian melodrama. Instead just a clever and funny structure, thanks to the talents of Yandy Laurens, who has gone against the grain of Indonesian film styles, by creating characters of great empathy (and the cast did an amazing job) in this honest and heartfelt story that combines the zany struggles in movie making, the process of grieving and most importantly, love.

Jatuh Cinta Seperti di Film-Film (2023) immediately draws you into a world where life and cinema blur in the most delightful way. From the first scene, you're hooked by its clever meta-storytelling-our hero isn't just chasing a crush, he's writing their romance as it unfolds, complete with black-and-white flashbacks that feel both nostalgic and fresh. Without giving anything away, the film's playful structure keeps you guessing and rooting for every candid moment between Bagus and Hana.
What really sets this movie apart is how it turns the art of screenwriting into an emotional journey. Every pitch meeting, every imagined scene, is a window into hope, heartbreak, and the courage it takes to rewrite your own story. The dialogue snaps with authenticity, and you can feel the weight of loss alongside the spark of new beginnings-making each heartfelt beat resonate long after the credits roll.
Above all, this film celebrates the messy, beautiful truth that life rarely follows a script. It's a love letter to second chances and the idea that even when your heart's been hurt, there's power in crafting your own sequel. If you believe in the magic of storytelling-and in finding love at any stage of life-this movie will leave you grinning and ready to press play on your own story.

There's no one movie quite like this one. Every scene leaves a lasting impression, despite many of them consisting mostly of conversations. What sets this film apart is its ability to keep you engaged with minimal action, relying on the depth of its dialogue to propel the story forward. The performances are exceptional, with the actors' delivery capturing the essence of their characters so effectively that even a simple exchange becomes captivating.
The film excels in creating tension and emotion from seemingly mundane moments, making every scene feel significant. The dialogues, although seemingly ordinary, are layered with subtext and insight, revealing much more than what's said on the surface. This intricate blend of storytelling makes it impossible to get bored, as every conversation feels like it's contributing something essential to the narrative.
Ultimately, the movie's strength lies in its ability to hold the viewer's attention purely through the power of its writing and performances. It's a perfect example of how a film doesn't need constant action or flashy visuals to be compelling. It's a celebration of meaningful dialogue, character development, and the art of storytelling that sticks with you long after the credits roll.
