After reading the synopsis for this movie, I went in knowing that it was likely going to be a disappointment.

It was even worse than I suspected it would be.

I know that it's popular to cast older actors to play teenagers and a lot of them can get away with it, the actors cast in this film look their real life ages which are mid to late 20's.

They acting is atrocious, there are moments where it sounds like they're reading their lines from cue cards and the writing is horrible.

Another thing that really bothered me was the amount of times the other characters repeated the name of the main girl, Cassie, I have no idea what any of the other characters are called but they were determined that you know her name.

I had to stop watching after 30 minutes because it was just painful to watch.

This movie is so bad in every way: the storyline, the dialogue, the "actors" (and I use the term oh so loosely). Is this supposed to be a horror movie? Where is the horror? The "special effects" are anything but special. . I kept fast forwarding to try to find a scary scene but to no avail. I gave up watching after 27 painful minutes. Thank goodness I only lost $3.00 on the rental. I would pay $30.00 to unsee it. The only saving grace was the fact the "actors" mumble their lines so that I couldn't understand what they were saying ~ small mercies indeed. Please take my advice and save your time for something ~ anything ~ else.

The first minute tells you what you're in for to a large extent. It's imperfect, low budget, and not everything works (the same is true for but budget films though). But it's also quite visually impressive at points, artistic, thought-provoking, and it creeped me out a few times. The story and characters were strong and consistent, everything had a purpose. I also thought the lead actress and most of the others were believable. And I appreciated that the ending wasn't forced or unnecessarily grim.

I enjoyed it.
