Beyond idiotic, this "movie" is the biggest piece of tripe ever. I cannot believe anyone even partially connected to it would allow their names to be printed, ANYWHERE. This was so bad, I was laughing at the start, became insulted by the mid-point and gave up 42 minutes in. If anyone got paid anything for this, they should man up and return the money or donate it to a charity. Well, they say they need 10 lines soo..... Don't go into this movie with high expectations and you won't be so disappointed. If you're in the military and looking for accuracy from a movie like this, then you deserve the angina you get. Just watch it for what it is, a mildly entertaining action flick. The only confusing part is the marketing strategy, from the poster and tagline, one would think it's a slapstick comedy, but watching the movie, it's more of a serious rescue flick with some lighthearted moments.
Five young soldiers, Matt Stasny, Barry Dempsey, Elliott Ackers, Vic Skinner, and Shane Jones, have been captured by Afghan warlord Abdul Al-Raazaq. Their military grandparents Mick Skinner (Bo Svenson), Jean Dempsey (Margot Kidder), Lou Jones (Louis Gossett Jr.), Dominic Ackers (Seymour Cassel), and Paul Stansy (Cedric Smith) decide to go and find their missing grandsons.
This has plenty of good acting talent in these old-timers. These are actors who still have gas in the tank. It's too bad that they are reduced to making these cheap B-movies. It tries to be serious but it can't be serious. The other minor actors are pretty bad. The locations are unconvincing. It is good to see some of these old geezers but it is sad to see the sandbox they're given to play in.

What would you do for someone you love? Some would go to war, and in this movie, these "geezers" did.
Sure, there were many detail errors, including not filming anywhere in North America that actually looks like A-Stan. Part of watching a picture is the suspension of disbelief so as to be entertained and to "get" the moral of the production. Persons who rate this film in the dumps, seems to completely forget that very important fact. Makes me wonder if they think Star Wars or Star Trek films are real history just because they are well done.
The film's message is what is important. Can you suffer hardship and loss and still stand up to do something about it, even put your own life on the line for what you believe in or love if you do not have to?
I appreciate the message of this film and the efforts of these thespians, who are not "spring chickens" any more, in conveying it to us, the audience.

I sat through this but I wouldn't recommend it. It doesn't know what it is.
It tries too hard to be serious and tries too hard to be funny. It achieves neither unfortunately.
