The Angels Take Manhattan

Flowing back to 1938, an angel changes Rory's fate, stealing 74 years of his life force, he's lucky to find a River's course. Soon all the gang are assembled here, but the TARDIS finds it hard to adhere, with Angel concentrations high, their liberty reaches for the sky. The weeping demons have found a jail, it's walls and rooms built to assail, a factory of perpetual theft, where you never leave and have nothing left. An unfitting farewell if you're stranded here, enough to encourage an emotional tear, but tangents new are beckoning, and more often than not, that's not a bad thing.

With time travel it's highly likely you're going to have plot holes (time travel is confusing), but there were so many things that didn't quite add up with this one (or in some cases, add up at all). Also, a lot of the plot just felt convenient for this being Amy and Rory's last episode, and was a bit rushed and underdeveloped.

Amy and Rory deserved a much better episode. Angel episodes have always been weak, but the number of convenient plot holes was frustrating.

Like the good Doctor, rip out the last page and never watch this episode. You don't need the aggravation.

Amazing episode. 1930´s aesthetic, interesting plot, and most important expanding on weeing angels´ lore in a best way. Best episode with these villans since Blink. The endig is overhelming.

The Doctor, Amy and Rory are in Central Park (2012) The Doctor is reading a book penned by River Song, as the Doctor reads aloud events around him start happening as they're written.

Moffat is clearly trying to crack the U.S. market, once again the story is set stateside. Why New York again, they've already had Daleks, there is more to America.

I can't say I was too gutted to see the last of Amy and Rory, they had a really goo innings, but it was definitely time for a change.

I hope the Angels are rested for a few years now, they are in danger of becoming overused and losing something. The Statue of Liberty was a big no. Although the concept of the Angel's Farm was a good one, very sinister.

It reminds me a bot of The Wedding of River Song, there is so much going on, possibly too much. Although this is much better executed. Pretty good throughout, but the ending is excellent, big send off for Rory and Amy. She proves she really does love him more then the Doctor. 7/10
