फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
22 year old girl here. Just read through some of the reviews and I was surprised to see the negativity! I watched this show initially with my boyfriend and his mates in the heart of Coventry who all love the inbetweeners. I personally have not watched it, however all of us agreed that Some Girls was actually really good... and that the best bit was the acting. The character development is ace, which is why the dry humour works so well. I can't fault the script either. I like shows that pay attention to detail and visually some girls ticks that box. All characters are relatable... its not crazy like skins but for an educated London 2nd gen immigrant girl who has lived in council flats her whole life going to school in your low end inner city secondary and who had friends similar to Holli, Amber, Saz and Viva, this show sure does bring back memories. I also think its aimed at a younger audience, maybe 15-20. It's a great laid back show to watch that'll have you smiling all the way through.
I stumbled across this while scouring Prime Video after accidentally letting my subscription roll into another month, and I'm glad I did.
I was surprised to find it compared to the inbetweeners everywhere because even though I enjoyed both shows I never really made any connection between the vibe of each show.
They all do a great job for young inexperienced actors although the girl playing Amber hams it up a bit too much for my taste (which could have been a deliberate choice from the director)
When I finished I thought they could have fleshed out the other 3 a bit more, but as it's mostly done from Vivas perspective, it's all coming through the lens of a 16 year old girl.
It was also nice to see girls sticking together in tv show rather than the endless power-struggle that makes up most on-screen all-female friendship groups.
And actually, what impressed me the most as the former London schoolgirl who got practically eaten alive by the other students, I had zero anxiety or resentment watching it. Saz and Holli would've publicly screamed at me for bumping into them - and when I was watching Skins or the inbetweeners or anything else along the same lines, some part of me was always aware of this whereas watching Some Girls I forgot and was along for the ride. This, despite the (very funny) humour being a bit predictable, is pretty impressive!
The only negatives I can really think of is that some of the girls' accents sound a bit forced, like they've been told to exaggerate? And funnily enough I thought all the adult acting was weaker than the kids. Also (not really a spoiler) while Viva and the girls are obviously going to have a naive perspective on it, there should have been a clear "that's not ok" point about Jamie's potential history in one way or another.
It's not a laugh riot but I'm definitely going to watch it again because 3 seasons flew by

Comparisons to The Inbetweeners are inevitable, as the series follows four sixth-formers who talk about sex a fair bit, and one of them's a bit simple. However, it keeps the grossest of its humour (which doesn't hit anything near the worst of the Rudge Park boys' adventures) contained in the dialogue, and really the funniest moments are pure character. Brilliant performances from all four leads make it hard to pick a favourite. Whenever a joke might lag, the girls stay utterly committed and keep the entertainment levels high. Supporting actors are strong too as well, with Colin Salmon, Dolly Wells and Jassa Ahluwalia all giving memorable turns. Hopefully everyone will be back for the second series.
Really funny show with likeable characters. Its basically an female version of The Inbetweeners. I do miss when BBC Three was an Channel.
Its probably one of the best comedies on BBC 3. Its funny, and sweet and real enough. Its not gritty or gross just fun and you don't get that often enough. Very likeable characters despite their backwards phrasing. It is like being back in 2012 instantly and I enjoyed being in my childhood again.
