Or may I say social drama, more than crime, that looks like a Karim Dridi's movie. There have already been French films taking place in some suburbs, or Paris districts such as Montmartre, Menilmontant, Belleville, a local characters study, a deep analysis of their daily life, tragedy, hopeless life, and all this thru some drug traffic, robberies or racket plots. Those yarns are rapidly forgotten. The atmosphere reminds me some Martin Scorcese's early movies or also Abel Ferrara and Roman Polanski's films too. And this cop character seems to have been inspired by Al Pacino in SERPICO; same outfit and look.
