Killjoy Goes to Hell

Killjoy (Trent Haaga) is back in the fourth installment of the demonic clown series. This time Killjoy is being accused of not being evil, since he let one of his victims get away physically unscathed.

I suppose if you liked the first three, you might like this one. And heck, Trent Haaga is a great actor, despite getting mixed up with Full Moon. He was great with Troma, and his directing is also pretty good. But, hey, why get stuck with Full Moon, which is like the bottom of the barrel? There are some humorous bits, some decent demon bits... and the idea of being on trial for not being evil is a decent concept. But demon clowns? A demon called Batty Boop? No thanks. And the surviving girl is more obnoxious than anything else.

I see a lot of people saying this was better than the others. This is the only one I have seen and it is terrible so I can only imagine how much worse it can get. This movie is the stupidest garbage I believe I have ever watched. I am normally quite generous when it comes to rating films and it takes a lot for me to straight up hate something, but this was terrible. I don't know who allowed this in production, but they should be fired. It is so stupid you can't even begin to take it seriously. It looks like a 2 year old picked out all of the costumes and did the make up for the characters. Yes, that ridiculous. And the acting is beyond poor. I wouldn't have made it through, but sadly I couldn't find the remote.

Killjoy Goes to Hell (2012) is currently available on Tubi. After failing to kill his target in Killjoy 3, the devil decides to strip Killjoy of his powers and put him on trial to determine if he's truly evil enough to be a supervillain. Killjoy must rely on his friends-Batty Boop, Punchy, and Freakshow-to help him prove his innocence... or guilt.

Directed by John Lechago (Feast of Fear), the film stars Trent Haaga (Tales of Halloween), Victoria De Mare (Sex Pot), Al Burke (The Wedding Singer), and Jessica Whitaker.

The series took a different direction after the second film, focusing more on the fun and over-the-top characters. Having seen the first five Killjoy movies, I can say that parts 3 through 5 are especially enjoyable. Are they good in the traditional sense? Not really. But the dialogue and ridiculous scenarios are hilarious, making it feel like an underrated cult classic. I recommend giving this series a chance. I'd score this one a 5/10, and it might just be the best in the series.

A bargain bin film you'll actually be glad you saw, Killjoy Goes to Hell is full of imagination, creepy costumes, and big laughs. With this installment it's clear that Charles Band and Full Moon Features is tired of being a laughing stock. They've completely upped their game to compete in the new world of films. Trent Haaga (Killjoy) and Victoria De Mare (Batty Boop) deliver outstanding performances, they're funny, creepy, and have excellent dialogue. The fact that Killjoy's whole gang is back is another good sign too, lots of interesting characters to help you lose yourself in the B movie goodness. The settings were masterfully done, both crazy and creepy. Yup, all in all a fun watch whether it's a late night private viewing, or surrounded by friends. Takes me back to the early days of the Twisty Metal franchise. ~Fang

The first 2 Killjoy movies were obviously very low budget & aimed at a black audience. They were also both awful. I've not had the (mis?)pleasure of watching part 3 so it was straight on to this, the fourth installment in the series & released here in the UK as the somewhat deceivingly title "Killer Clown" on the normally reliable 88 Films label. Bigger budget, bigger cast of characters & some fairly good special effects but still a stinker. Towards the end one of the them says "I've had enough!" - so had I! I just found this tiring & generally unfunny, 1/10 may be a bit harsh but that's my score to counter those who have awarded high marks.
