I'm not for fluff, I have never liked Karan Johar's movies like Student of the Year kinds .. but call me Bae is actually a nice watch.
Watch it without any judgement. It's pure entertainment with a cute mockery of the rich and famous without being derisive .
I actually watched a few reviews by famous reviewers and earlier decided to drop it because they were not that encouraging.
But having lost trust in the famous reviewers over the last few years (especially after Pathan ;);)) , I decided to give it a go.
The fact that I completed the 1at episode and decided to continue told me that I would sail through.
I particularly loved the innocence of Ananya Pandey. As per the movie, one doesn't have to go to journalism school to be a famous journalist, the same way I feel Ananya doesn't have to be a fabulous actor to hold the entire show. She has done a good job by acting who she is, how we see her on social media .
The supporting cast is full of energy and that doesn't let the show go boring. Vir Das is good as an irritating Tehelka style presenter.
My favourite is the watchman who tells Ananya - Aapki majboori jahan shuru hoti hai, wahan tak pahunchna hee to apna sapna hai 😀 with a snide ref of Siddhant Chaturvedi.

Call Me Bae turned out to be an enjoyable watch, though it had its ups and downs. The show started off weak, with the first few episodes being quite underwhelming. I found myself not having a great experience initially, as the performances and direction in the beginning were mediocre at best. However, as the story progressed and the plot began to unfold, the series took a much more engaging turn.
Once the narrative dove into its core plot, I was hooked. The story became increasingly captivating, drawing me in as the episodes went by. The performances, too, improved significantly as the show advanced, with the last two to three episodes showcasing some solid acting across the board. In these final episodes, the cast seemed to hit their stride, delivering more convincing and compelling performances.
The direction also improved as the series progressed. While the earlier episodes felt lackluster in terms of execution, the later episodes were much more polished. The pacing, scene transitions, and overall storytelling were handled with much more finesse towards the end.
One standout element throughout the series was the music. From the very beginning, the songs were well-chosen and played an integral role in enhancing the emotions of each scene. The way the music was used to complement key moments was well-executed, adding depth and atmosphere to the narrative.
However, the ending left me with mixed feelings. The series concludes with a cliffhanger, which, while intriguing, didn't entirely sit well with me. Rather than pushing for a second season, I would have preferred an open ending, leaving certain aspects of the story to the audience's imagination.
In conclusion, Call Me Bae is far from a groundbreaking series or a new pinnacle of storytelling, but it's a fun and entertaining watch. It has its flaws, especially in the beginning, but as it finds its footing, it becomes an engaging and worthwhile experience.s.

I watched it along with my girlfriend expecting nothing but to my surprise it was a very fresh and entertaining watch. Very Gen-Z kind of show but there is something for my generation as well. The casting is very on point and humour is very subtle. Ananya Pandey was made to play this role. Vir Das is playing an entirely opposite character to his real self but still slays the role. Naman Arora once again does a good supporting cameo kind of role.
I think reviews are so low because people are reviewing without even watching it under the assumption that this is yet another show made just for casting nepo kids. I'd highly recommend to watch it once.

Could have been an amazing show, however:
1) no depth to characters.
2) No reality to the struggles of moving penniless to Mumbai.
3) No suspense or follow through to the ' mystery'?
4) TERRIBLE ACTING 5) Very poor comedic timing.
6) Nothing is believable. Not the characters, Not the scenarios portrayed as life in Mumbai, not the ease of getting a job. Not the clothes ( the outfits worn in non air conditioned surroundings. From Heavy satin PJ's to Jackets and I think i spotted a fur!
Come on Guys. Come on Dharma productions! You gave us the best and now you've reduced yourselves to this???
Heartbroken. Especially after KKHH!

If you are bored with too much of UP, Bihar , Delhi crime/police shows with vulgar language. This is something different, grab a beer and watch it.
The show is exactly what it wants to be. It's cheerful, not comical but witty at times. This is not for you if you are expecting to be getting life changing, motivational messages or too much complex drama. Even in complex situations like news room it doesn't put heavy drama, it keeps the lighter enjoyable tone.
Ananya Pandey does good job and fits into character well.
The show is visually good, Color pallet used is vibrant, not typical dusty, small town setup,
Overall it's enjoyable even in cliche and predictable moments it maintains its charm and lighter tone.
