The Neighbors

Don Lee (the reason why I watched the film) is only one of the characters in this ensemble film that takes a bunch of people in a neighborhood building and has their lives collide when a serial killer may be amongst them. This is not a simple film with serial killers, ghosts, haunting, and other supernatural elements that are window dressing to the lives of all these people in the same building. It's also violent and harrowing and an excellent film. Even though Lee is but one member of the ensemble he definitely has an impact especially in the final act when all the stories and lives of the tenants finally collide. A film I recommend for audiences who enjoy these style of ensemble films.

It's a total worth my time and even more. Don lee was awesome as always even though he got a small role. Absolute nailbiting and edge of the seat kind of movie. Definitely recommend to everyone.

Simply loved this movie ,movie Style was very unique,same time show 7 people lives how their lives slowly revolves around each other,Great direction,Script,Camera work & all cast Acting was so Awesom

Dong Seok Ma must have regretted being any part of this nonsense film. Which school finishes that late that the kids get home at 10pm ? Everyone knows who the killer is and says nil The killer is mopping up a pool of blood in one scene and a neighbour simply walsk past him in the communal area.

Stupid film that makes no sense. Maybe it's an unfunny comedy

THE NEIGHBOURS is another engaging murder mystery/crime thriller from South Korea, this time based on a popular web cartoon. As usual for this country, it's layered with social commentary like many others in this genre, looking at people's willingness to turn a blind eye to conflict in order to lead a quiet life. The film is quite unusual in that we don't get one lead but rather a small community of different characters, all of whom have very different and intriguing back stories. It takes a while to get going and is slow at times, and there are some annoying stylistic choices, like having one actress playing multiple roles. But it all comes together for a highly satisfying climax, and Ma Dong-seok shines in a star-making role.
