I loved this show. I don't understand the negative reviews. Many people complained about the camera work. I watched this in 6/25, did they re-edit since it was originally released? To me it was such a joy to watch. Great vibes like the British Baking show. I love the element of creating a new baking product to their Silo's Bakery. So, it's not just solely based on taste, but how it will fit into their current items, customer wants, not needing to be refrigerated, portability, etc. I hope they have many more seasons. I'm just now starting to watch their holiday baking show. Judges are great on both shows.
I thought "how nice! I'll relax and watch a baking competition!"
Ugh.... what a workout! Camera shots switched about a second each on average. My eyes and brain were exhausted after the first episode.
EDIT OF MY ORIGINAL REVIEW: Apparently the production team agreed with me. After my head stopped spinning after episode 1, I watched the rest of this series. Then I went back and watched the first episode again, just to be sure.
Big difference! The fast paced, ADD friendly attitude of episode 1 was gone. I enjoyed episodes 2-6.
I changed my rating from 2/10 to 6/10.
I hope somebody learned something... watching a baking show, the viewers don't want rapid camera viewpoints of people.. we want to WATCH BAKING! Thank you for figuring that out. After take 1.
Nice show, I look forward to seeing if there is a second season.

I've only watched the holiday competition show. Er, I mean I've only tried watching the holiday competition show. I could only make it part way thru before I just couldn't take any more. If the rest of the shows in the mag network are like this, count me out. The camera changes and edits are so quick you can't figure out what you're watching before they switch. Not only is it a headache to watch but it's boring, boring, boring. Whoever came up with this format must have previously been shooting girls gone wild trailers. You shoot just enough to tease but not giveaway the moneymaker. Works in porn and michael bay commercials but not cooking shows. It's not just boring too. The show is like a high glossy level of fakery. Merry berry is my fav cooking host. I ask myself, would she fit in this type of format and the answer is h no.
It's a little disorienting because the monkey they trained to slap the toggle switch for the camera views is way too good at its job. If they could hold a shot long enough for me to process what I'm watching that would be really nice.
The shots are also way too zoomed in, I think it necessitated the aforementioned hyperactive monkey. All in all the film crew probably needs to be replaced.
This show has all that is required to be a real winner, and as a native Texan that's really exciting. A new film crew and euthanasing that damn monkey will turn this show from zero to hero.
Lastly, if the poor filming was due to the live audience being in too many shots, then maybe use bleachers to give the out door kitchen a theater vibe that cleans up the shots.

This was so boring, surprisingly no charm or appeal, no spark, no chemistry amongst the judges or between the judges and contestants. It dragged on and Chip only added an awkward forced moment to the show. We started it with high expectations of her high standards but after just a few moments lost interest and only finished to see who won. Hope there are no plans for season two, at least with the same format. I am curious how the producers and directors feel about it and if they got a lukewarm response to the production from other viewers. I see no other reviews here so there are no cheers either.
