I realy wanted to watch this to the end and I did, to see who is the murder,bad omg,so bad acting,Julie destroyed this weak show. She is so wooden,ALWAYS have a half open mouth,looks like Bella from Twilight and look like she wanna go to the bathroom,and want to be smart, but she isnt.

This is zhe worst skandinavian show that I ever watched.

Its painful to watch Julie ,but i like the couple from recepcion and I like Sherin,she is so cute.

There really isn't anything positive that I can say about this show. I can't believe it was renewed for 3 additional seasons after the first one, which I had to stop watching. There is absolutely no one, except the one who looks like a model, whose character was somewhat relatable. Hit truly, they're all awful. The entire main cast are awful people in their own way. I hated everyone. How can people watch a show where every major character is just the worst? Even the happy-go-lucky bartender was cringe-worthy. The widow was a sociopath and I'm not sure she was meant to be seen that way. The daughter she has conflict with was so poorly written, and the actress who portrayed her acted like a really long stick was up you know where, you wonder how the producers allowed her to be hired. The gambler is not much better. The way they're depicted, these parents and step-parents should never have been allowed to have children. I could go on forever, but I shall stop. This show has already taken up too much time in my life. What a pathetic joke this series, characters and most of the actors are.

Strandhotellet is a joke.

Cast is a joke particulary Astrid Morberg which delivered unskilled and lackluster performances she was so terrible underwhelming performances and unpleasant to watch. The storyline was painfully cliché and failed to capture any attention or appeal. The combination of subpar acting and a predictable plot made this series unenjoyable to the point where I canceled my viaplay subscription because of this series.

I watched some episodes of this series that left me truely disappointed this was the worst show I have watced since a very long time. I don't recommend unless you want to waste time and get confused.

I really wanted to stick with this show until the end to uncover the mystery, and I did, but it was a struggle. The acting was painfully bad, with Julie being the weakest link. Her performance was wooden, with a constant half-open mouth that made her look like Bella from Twilight, perpetually needing a bathroom break while trying to appear smart but failing.

This was frustrating enough, but kicking off this season by adding Morberg to the cast made it tremendously worse. The casting choices were atrocious, with Per being the only exception among the Morbergs who should stay AWAY from acting.

This is the worst Scandinavian show and cast I've ever seen. It felt like it was made for an audience with low standards. I also think watching Julie was a painful experience, though I did enjoy the couple from the reception and found Sherin cute. Despite this new (3rd) yet the worst season, I won't be watching. It's simply too painful and the plot is so prolonged and boring.

Whoever cast/hired Astrid Morberg should reconsider their career. The production team must think the audience is foolish to hire such incompetent actors. Morberg's weak performance ruined season 3.

The show was already slow-paced with convoluted plots, and her addition only made things worse. The appeal of the show, with its portrayal of typical Swedish class families, is marred by disjointed subplots and a main story that fails to connect. I love Camillas work and appreciated some of the cast, like Ronnie Hanna and Samuel, but poor decisions during production overshadowed their efforts.

No spoilers here! But be prepared for disappointment and wasted time if you watch. The last episode left me confused and unsatisfied I was like is that's it, or is it gonna be more? I didn't know how to feel about it, was the worst cliffhanger ever. There are many other shows out there with more engaging stories and better endings.

Camilla is still trying to deliver and explain why "Kvinnor mördar bättre än män," yet she is failing. Maybe she influenced the casting team to hire the worst cast ever, both in acting and real life, such as Astrid Morberg. I can confirm that if someone is terrible at acting, they might be just as bad in real life. She can't even pretend to be good or do better -extremely cringe- just like Brie the most hated and cocky star actress ever.

I enjoyed the first two seasons despite the confusing story and repetitive situations. But this season was a shock for me-I almost felt like I was watching the series from season one all over again. It also reminds me a lot of "Lyckoviken." Is it the soap opera style we used to watch a lot, or is it Camilla Läckbergs genre? I don't know, but this series has left a very bad taste in my mouth. The only people who would lie about enjoying this terrible show are those very close to the cast or studio team, just to appear supportive. I advise to avoid. -CJay.

Yes, there are some decent actors, and a bunch of really bad actors, I can live with the mix of good/bad actors even if it is painful to watch.

The major problem is that the script was written, left to decompose, and all the possible good part was removed before the production started. It stinks!

There are more plot-holes in the script than in a Swedish road after a long winter. The characters are changing behaviour, doing the most strange things, almost as is they were having severe memory losses.

Even the "police" acts as if they are without any education at all. It's really bad.

... with such a limited number of review ratings to date (162) it's hard to draw much inference with existing overall rating of '3'... it's far from great Swedish TV programs, yet hardly deserving of such a low overall rating score

... soaps rarely earn high marks except in certain countries where the genre is much more accepted-popular... acting in this series is quite passable, production values not a major problem... sure the script-plot is suspect on occasions, but folks don't select watching soaps for their high authenticity do they (except maybe in Sweden)

... anyway it ended as if there is an S2 on the boards, if not yet fully approved for shooting... let's give-'em benefit of doubt.

... 08.15.24 - so little more than a year later, appeal for the series has not much changed... Swedish reviewers still liking it least of all the country's votes recorded... season two has dropped, and half way through it's on par with S1, not better or worse... will be interesting to see if a third series gets made, would say there's probably a good chance there will, yet my one approval rating of 13 telling me, what do I know

... also: could there be more-worse-subtitling than on this series... how much does it affect ratings, anyone's guess.. although Swedes don't have-show better ratings than other nations, so there's that.

One actress or actor can make or break a film- show. I was okej and somewhat enjoying this show since previous seasons, but that changed when Elin appeared-I'm not even going to say even her real name, thats how How on earth do they handle casting? I have worked in this branch for over ten years, and things only go sour when they show up. Call it personal, but I will not pay half penny on such a terrible show with this very poor and unwise casting it was so bad I had to sign up an account to write a review. That' been said as well as I' will be canceling my subscription from viaplat as well because of this.

The list of reasons for this series' lack of success and poor execution far outweigh the positives. I literally came just to check the reviews before considering investing my time in the newly released season tre and man was relieved to see that I wasn't alone in finding this series to be a confusing and unauthentic drama/mystery cliché with very little to zero appeal.

The casting choices are extremely poor and unwise, with exception of Samuel, Rennie, and maybe Sofia. The rest of the cast seems like just wanna be superstar and they are trying too hard to be instead of mastering acting and the craft.

Astrid Morberg in particular, is a major turn-off, and I wouldn't watch anything that includes the Morbergs except for Per, who is a true legend and entertainer. Same as others pointed this out.

It's baffling how the production team assembled this roster. Their acting feels so forced and obvious, which ruins the experience. It's like watching behind-the-scenes clips or a magician revealing their tricks; once you see it, you can't unsee it, and it ruins the enjoyment.

So sad to remember a show because how bad it was. I barely made it through the first 3/4 episodes last year. Unfortunately, I found myself lost and confused by the plot and the unexplained scenes.

10 minutes in this new season and it was too much to bare, I felt so annoyed. I can't recommend this to any Swedish fellas.

Starting from Season 1 till 2 it was meeeh ok.

But season 3 episode 1 onwards it sunk.

Each episode each scence and plot was executed by irritating characters and none of it seemed credible at all.

Worst of all was Elin, she could have entered this year Paris Olympics for naivety and nonescense, she was as bad as the dancer Rachael Gunn, and yet she thinks she's the best at her jobb, wrong person in the wrong profession. How they hire these people?

It's like me trying to sing! And me don't want hear me sing because I'm that bad. Unfortunately these days people in charge have no standard and they make fools of themselves and the viewers.

They think of us viewers are so dumb and have no intelligence.

As for the story(?) if there was any! They crammed as many clichéd storylines in as they possibly could, but none of it seemed at all plausible or connected. Neither me or my wife understood anything.

My wife wanted to persevere and watch some episodes. This was a mistake as the whole thing just got worse and worse with more quick fire storylines that we have seen so many times before.

Finally we turned it off during episode 4 and it stayed off.

There is new further season (4). Lol Anyway, we shall not and we will not be watching.

Every time I start viaplay, I see a reklam for this series.

I believed I was missing out on a good show, so i was convinced to watch it. And i was wrong. It was totally disappointing. I lost track of the story and my focus on what was happening. It seems more like a fashion show and casual meetings typical of Swedish lifestyle rather than anything special to get hooked on. Its not raw footage or a reality show like "Wahlgrens Värld," yet the atmosphere gives similar vibes but fails. I think this is due to the bad choice of cast. There are some great people in the show, but most of the rest are really bad at acting and they failed to deliver, such as Luka plus Elin. I couldn't stand watching them they are annoying and horrible sorry.

My advice: don't watch this show; it's very boring and dull. I will stick to top ten lists and ignore paid publicity like this.

Some of the actors are good, and rest are really bad specially morberg, and for that alone it lost all potentials.

Storielines that simply are pathetic and stuff happening that does not make any sence what so ever, nothing connected. Failure in script with what's actually happening in many scenes. It's actually quite embarrassing and very painful to watch.

Yes it's a TV-series and not reality of course, but it's a tv series about life, crime and people, and we the viewer are not dumb.

Swedish television can do so much better than this. Stop hiring horrible actresses and actors.

Do not waste your time, better off season 4 to be cancelled.

The first episode left me needing more, which is usually a good sign.. but when I confronted this feeling, I realized my interest was not based on a good impression of episode 1 - a lack thereof is more likely - and in a moment of weakness, I questioned whether or not it was as bad as I thought (kept losing focus during).. My initial ruling was indeed just though..

As I'm very apologetic when watching shows in general, 'cos I let my own imagination spin the story's faults in a way that it makes sense (tough to describe).. Especially these detective dramas, because they've been told in so many ways already.. but I suppose there must be at least one character, or idea even, to spark an interest, in order for my brain cells to be bothered with the slack..

Resulting in a classic cliché, with murder/mystery as special effects.

This is a muddled attempt at mystery crime drama, featuring an average cast embroiled in convoluted and separated plots. The story, when not confusing, is disappointingly predictable and lacks genuine engagement. While Samuel, Ronnie, Hanna, Sofia and Filip deliver commendable performances, the rest of the cast is just horrible.

Amidst this mediocrity, Astrids performance is notably terrible. Her lifeless acting and lack of presence make her scenes particularly painful to watch, dragging the entire series down. As a big fan and reader of Camilla's books since 2013, this series does not do her justice. "Strandhotellet" ultimately fails to deliver a compelling viewing experience.

Camilla Läckberg has lost it. This is as bad as the appalling Lyckoviken. I didn't bother with the subsequent seasons of that failure and nor shall I watch the next season of this farrago of tosh.

As the series was coming to its end, I was wondering how all of the various strands of cheating, murders, love lives and betrayals would be resolved in the final episode. The answer is that they weren't. Not a thing was explained and we were left waiting for a second season which might just bring the sorry saga to its end.

Done on a shoestring, the series uses what is presumably a real hotel as a backdrop for one of the two rival establishments but the other one is never shown from the outside. Most of the action is on sets apart from a few outdoor scenes. The majority of the actors seem to have little other screen presence elsewhere and most of them are of hideous aspect, it's quite incredible. Where did they get these unattractive people from?

All the clichés we expect from Läckberg now are here - seaside village, everyone knows each other, impossible situations that simply would never happen. Just one example, a hotel employee is not sacked for deliberately causing a probable divorce between a rich, regular guest and his wife as well as threats of bad publicity.

Even the glorious Swedish summer and scenery couldn't save this sorry mess. Dreadful acting from the awful actors and actresses did nothing to help. The snogs were particularly bad as the people supposedly in lust clearly couldn't stand one another. One actress refused to be kissed at all despite being meant to be in a physical relationship with her lover.

This was just so dire. I shan't be waiting for season two next year.

The story follows many different people but the problem is that only a few of those plots and people are interesting, long parts of every episode was so boring I could fall asleep. If all meaningless and boring subplots were removed each episode would probably be around 10 to 15 minutes only, then this would have been a great series.

The romance between Sebastian and Julie was interesting and I wanted to watch more of it, they had a very good chemistry that made me want to root for them even though it was morally wrong.

If you wanted to watch this show because it was tagged crime then it is the wrong show for you. The whole crime plot feels like a little add on and it is not the main theme.
