Will be the 46th film overall in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which marks the final installment of Phase 6 and concludes The Multiverse Saga.
The film was originally set to release 6 months after अवेंजर्स: डूम्सडे (2026) on November 7th, 2025 but was delayed on October 11th, 2022 to May 1st, 2026. This puts the fifth and sixth Avengers films a year apart, much like how अवेंजर्स: इन्फिनिटी वॉर (2018) & अवेंजर्स: एंडगेम (2019) were.
Anthony Russo and Joe Russo (directors of अवेंजर्स: इन्फिनिटी वॉर (2018) and अवेंजर्स: एंडगेम (2019)) have expressed interest in directing an Avengers movie based on the popular Secret Wars story-line from Marvel comics but it was confirmed by Kevin Feige the pair will return to direct.
The movie was referenced in the डेड्पूल & वुल्वरीन (2024) please silence your cellphones commercial.
Michael Waldron was previously attached to write the screenplay for "Avengers: Secret Wars", while Jeff Loveness penned the screenplay for the then titled "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty". Jeff Loveness then left the project and Michael Waldron took over writing duties for both projects. However, in July 2024, Veteran Marvel writer Stephen McFeely replaced both Jeff Loveness and Michael Waldron after a creative overhaul was performed on "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty" to which it now has a new subtitle 'Doomsday', featuring Doctor Doom as the films new main protagonist, and The Russo Brothers were also confirmed to direct both projects.
