I liked the trailer more than the movie. I've been to the museum (Norsk Folkemuseum) in Oslo where this movie is at least partially made, the candy shop is part of the museum and also the town square is at the museum.

I recognized all the old style furniture that was typical in Norway in the 1960s. So I don't think it has much to do with IKEA from a content perspective - a comment about this was said in another review.

It's all a very typical Norwegian Christmas celebration, remembering some stuff from my own childhood even though I was not born back in the 1960s. It's based on a Norwegian children's book.

My 2-year old daughter liked the movie. She loves to hug anything she finds cosy, from fluffy sweaters to books showing teddy bears. My 5 year old son did not care so much about it he claimed, but still watched all of it.

The only moment of suspense for the kids was where a kid was in a situation of getting caught for illegal entry into a house...

My kids are not strong believers in Santa, not sure if kids become disbelievers by watching it. Santa never takes off his mask, but it's obvious to non-believers who he is :-).

The movie seems to be available at least with Russian audio, German and Norwegian.

We went to see the movie today with the kids age 4 and 7. We did not expect to see a verbal agressive father, totally not understanding with his daughter. The whole movie is very boring but this is not even the main issue. The main problem is that in the movie it reveals that Santa does not exist but in fact the Christmas gifts come from the parents.

You ruin childhood with this movie! I highly not recommend it. I don t even understand how is it possible to even exist this kind of movie in 2022.

Avoid going to a horrible story with no empowerment for the children and nothing good to learn from.

I just watched this movie with my 8y old niece and I it is so empty and lazy and generic.

Story structure is so lazy writen that I think that the description on IMDB is the actual script.

Nothing happens. You can watch first 10 minutes and last 5 minutes of this movie and absolutely nothing would change.

Everthing is so forced, bunch of christmas generic stuff, there are no characters with any level of growth or change, so many things that does not make sense.

I understand this is kids movie, but they could have put more thought into it.

Best way to describe the movie would be like you are watching a Dharman video which is 80 minutes long, but even more stupid.

Only reason I gave this movie 4 stars is because it looks nice. It is not perfect, but its more then OK.

I loved the atmosphere, characters and the way family loved and truly supported each other. The movie was made in Norway which was refreshing in the sea of overly politically correct nauseating dreck. The middle part is a little bit slow but it's not too bad. Yes, the production is not Hollywood and actors seem like they could be your neighbors, but that's exactly the beauty of this movie. It's not bombastic, it doesn't cram the message down your throat, it's not disgustingly oversweetened like most Christmas movies nowadays. It's just an interesting, intelligent, beautifully made story that stays with you. I loved every minute of it.

As the title says, this is not a Christmas movie for children over 3yo. This movie is not appropriate for children because it clearly suggests that Santa doesn't exist and presents come from parents and relatives. Also supports parents that are not ok with their children. It is in fact an Ikea merchandise showcase! I know it is a swidesh movie but common can you be more obvious then this, it is like a very,very long commercial for Ikea. I know this is the way you get funds for movies this days but this is totally ridiculous. If i cloud i would have asked for the money back at the cinema. Horrible experience.
