Beyond the North Woods

This is simply one of the worst movies ever made. I don't know what else to say, but according to iMDB I have to write six hundred words about this trash fire of a film. I have watched several student films, none as bad as this. This supposed movie reaches a level of awful that I previously did not know existed. It had absolutely nothing to say, but it says nothing over and over and over again. The movie is like an episode of the Twilight Zone that wasn't good enough to make the cut. It is awful. I've spent a lot of time saying that. Why is it awful? It has no clue what it wants to do. At all. It is absolutely nonsensical. There's nothing to be gained by watching this dreck.

From the description of the movie, I expected something much different.

Not sure what, but not this.

There's no "sudden blizzard".

Sure, perhaps cidiots might go for a day hike and make some of these mistakes, but a ranger?

These people did all the wrong things to survive if you're in the woods, even without all the extra layers of weirdness.

The content creators were so impressed by the hotel room with the messed up beds, it's like the crew couldn't be bothered after the first take to straighten the sheets, but if I walked in there, I would think the room was otherwise occupied, especially if it's still a keyed room, as they can be replicated, that's why they're phased out... I bit too disjointed for me.

I'm glad this was a short movie.

It really had no plot that went anywhere, and no coherence nor resolution to the characters.

I love found footage & even the bad & worse, but this was even beyond my toleration. This is even bad if it were just a YT video. Is this seriously how 20 somethings talk?? If so, I sincerely weep for our future. I am definitely not a prude when it comes to the use of profanity, when use for dramatics to heighten the emotion & when it's not over used. Dropping f' bombs every other word does not make you sound cool & in this case it turns these characters into f$%king morons. I swear if Jordan, the park ranger said, one more time that she didn't know what to do or where they were at in the woods....etc.

There is NO ONE to route for in this movie other than what or who is responsible for the previous disappearances/deaths. I'm sure after others see this movie I will not be alone in how I feel about this dumpster fire. I don't think anyone will have spoilers contained in their reviews on this as I believe you have to watch the whole film for that. And for me, I clocked out way before the halfway point when Tubi started running the same Dollar General commercial and.

I would have to side with DavidFredrick here, I am in that category, did I enjoy this movie or not.

I kept watching it until the end and came not so much disappointed but more so in two minds of what I thought about the movie.

Could it have been better of course it could have, to me the film tried to be to clever for its own good and some scenes didn't make sense even after the big reveal.

But overall I kept at it and came away still sort of okay with it.

Now this type of film is not for everyone, if you like fast paced movies then this is not for you, if you like thinking films maybe it's in your style of movie.

So I don't know what to say about it, maybe give it a go but don't expect this to be the next big found footage movie.

I've found that the more festival awards they mention in the trailer, the worse the movie is. This is no exception. I freely admit, I didn't give this movie a chance - I turned it off to search for another movie at the 9:06 mark. I wasn't interested in wasting another hour to find out if it gets better - life is too short and there are too many other movies to try. I will say this - I hope this is supposed to be satire, and the main character is intended as a critique of influencers, because if he's not supposed to be, if he's actually supposed to be playing this seriously, he should re-evaluate his career options.
