One Cent Thief

It does inspired by true hacker named Aman, it started good on 1,2 & 3 until the plot started to get pointless when the Tamil gangster started to show up and it continued the nonsense to the sugar mommy? (I forgot her name). Look I know when there's someone who can hack the national bank system, they already had a fund in their gang.

According to logic (i had to say this)

First issue: if he withdraws 1 cent from everybody for almost everyday, ain't that noticeable to the account owners who experienced it?

Second issue: is to withdraw them, he withdraws to a dead account which is almost untraceable, but wouldn't it be suspicious to withdraw that much? And of course it surely does if he'll get caught if he went to withdraw almost everyday if he went same face with different account names.

Overall that's all I saw, the idea is good in the first 3 episodes, until the plot doesnt make any sense.

But what makes me still feels complete is because the character development, and he willingly to fight back on his own without the idea he had in the first place. Which is to be rich and powerful, but when he realises money means nothing when someone has intelligence like himself. That's the character development I was looking forward into Malaysian entertainment industry

I gave this a generous 6/10.

With all the money he has, the loan shark was able to terrorize him and his dad, his acting is over the top, I mean... facial expressions and all... He is so obvious in the series and the drama they put to it is downward absurd. I believe they can do better than this... or is it just the limitation of their capabilities in acting? Too much unnecessary acting, they portray the characters are stupid AF just full of angst and macho bravado. On a good note, it was fun and sometimes exciting, but if they can improve their acting and story line next time, it will be a great movie that will garner a lot of praise.

First of all I'm not a professional so bare with me as this is my first amateur review.

I am a very fond of fictional drama from korea that i rarely watch malaysian's. OCT changed my mind instantly. It's new, fresh and the plot twists are exciting!

The main characters from the drama wasn't the one i adore and i barely watch them but i love the acting in this especially Amerul Affendi which his acting blew me away. He was so natural and convincing as if I'm seeing a real life scene happening before my eyes.

The cinematography is very beautiful and high quality. It shows that a LOT of effort are put in the drama by the crews and cast. Plots in every episode also never disappoint me as i remember i can't wait to watch next one and nearly screaming and squeaking every time the show starts.

If you are new to Malaysian's drama, please watch this and i warn you that you can barely watch similar drama from Malaysia as the benchmark of this series are very high (to me at least).

"One Cent Thief" has truly set a new benchmark for Malaysian series. It's rare to come across a local production that delivers such an impressive mix of compelling storytelling, exceptional acting, and high-quality cinematography.

Character development throughout the series is a standout. Each character is well fleshed out, with layers that are gradually revealed as the story unfolds. This is complemented by the beautiful cinematography, which captures the mood and tension of the series perfectly.

What makes One Cent Thief unique is how different it is from the typical Malaysian drama. It dares to tread uncharted territory, delivering a narrative style and visual quality that feels fresh and international.

That said, while the story is generally well-crafted, there are moments where it may not seem entirely logical-like the bank system's security being overly fragile. However, for viewers without an IT background, these moments are understandable within the context of the plot and don't detract from the overall enjoyment.

Plot twists abound, keeping you on the edge of your seat! While some scenes might be predictable, they're handled so well that you remain hooked and entertained.

The acting is another major highlight. Faizal Hussein and Syafiq Kyle are phenomenal. Faizal proves why he's still one of the best in the industry, delivering a masterclass in acting. Syafiq, too, delivers an outstanding performance, making his character feel incredibly real and relatable.

The series even managed to get my eyes watery, a testament to how emotionally invested I became in the story. It's rare for a series to achieve this level of connection with its audience.

And it's not over yet! With season 2 rumored to arrive in January next year, I can't wait to see how the story unfolds further.

I highly recommend this series to all Malaysians. Prepare to be amazed by how far Malaysian dramas have come. Bravo to the creators of One Cent Thief!

The acting especially from the villians- definitely a 10/10. The storyline was predictable but how it was executed and woven was very well done! I have to say i wish i had only stumbled on this show earlier- only got to know it when it was picked up by Netflix.

All in all the quality was exceptional for a locally done production. I just wish there would be more concentration on the main character and a build up on how he managed to steal the $$- and the following cat and mouse chase that followed after.

I would say- it is well worth the watch. Exceptional casting and decent plot for this. Well done!
