फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
Quite an interesting homage to a couple of literary classics. VERY well done, good acting, great plot, fun twists, and very well shot. If you loved any version of Mary Shelly's classic tale, you will love this.
just enough of the original, the Bride of, and Young Frankenstein to keep me watching until the end.
When it first starts I wasn't too sure I'd enjoy it, but once it gets going, it really is very good. Surprisingly believable, considering the minimal sets, and make up effects.
Congrats to all involved for giving me a NEW version of an old song to enjoy.

Going beyond the basic framework of the Frankenstein story, CORPSING is a smart horror film that both entertains and poses questions about science, psychology, and the horror genre. Taking the basic corpse-building and reanimation theme of Frankenstein, Jeff Monahan's film substitutes a female scientist, raising questions about the masculine nature of science which are similar to those raised in Shelley's novel. Throughout the movie, it isn't clear how much control Shelly (the evocatively named Frankenstein figure) has over her scientific experiment, her own mental condition, and her physical impulses (especially hunger and sexuality). Building from and beyond Shelley's Frankenstein, Monahan's film pushes viewers to rethink their assumptions and expectations of the horror genre.
It was two things that lured me to watch "Corpsing". First thing was because it was a zombiesque-movie, granted with a twist on the "Frankenstein" story. But also because it was a Fangoria presentation. Which I then found out doesn't mean it is a good movie.
I managed to endure 30 minutes of "Corpsing" before I gave up out of sheer and utter boredom. This movie was hopelessly boring and uneventful. It felt like I had watched an hour and a half, but only 30 minutes had actually transpired.
The storyline was atrocious and offered little, if anything at all, of any interest, and I quickly found myself with my mobile phone in hand.
The make-up was just laughable, it was screaming low budget, and the kind of low budget that you don't want to witness on the screen. It was bad, phenomenally bad.
The acting, well, let's just say that they had nothing to work with in terms of a proper script and interesting characters, and it reflected poorly on their performances.
I have no intention of ever returning to finish watching the rest of this snail-paced movie that had nothing worthwhile to it. It was 30 minutes straight down the drain, and I am glad I didn't invest another hour of watching "Corpsing".
A word of advice, stay well clear of this 2013 stinker.

This movie has taken the Frankenstein legend and has provided it with a fresh twist to make it a truly unique film! It was awesome to see a horror movie involving reanimation, a disturbing love story that will give you the creeps and make you think...all while grossing you out at the same time. I also found it appropriate that the film was shot in Pittsburgh, Pa., where another film about the dead coming back to life was filmed, "Night of the Living Dead" and then the original "Dawn of the Dead". I found the performance from the three lead actors very enjoyable, the female lead, appropriately named "Shelly", was great to watch and I can't go into her performance too much without letting out some spoilers, so I won't. I highly recommend it!
CORPSING has blood and guts, but that's not the driving focus for this film. The characters have depth and dimension often not found in contemporary horror. Without giving too much away, I even found myself giggling a little as Thomas learned to use the stair master. CORPSING complicates the role of women and pushes the conventions and boundaries of the genre. Shelly, the leading female character, is even in control of telling the story. It's a far cry from the shrieking busty virgin or the moaning busty damsel in distress roles that 90's slasher flicks imposed. This film leads the audience to questions about masculinity, femininity, and sustainability in a fractured environment. CORPSING is a beautifully raw story with amazing casting. The dialogue is purposeful, natural, and concise. The soundtrack is pleasantly surprising and at times delicate. CORPSING is a re-watch must.
