A fresh take on the politics of the fashion industry and how certain actors in it just fall in line for the sake of keeping up appreances. What you have in this show is a strong willed man prioritizing appearances while his family suffers and a vengeful woman blinded by revenge suffering the same fate. Looking forward to a second season where there is a greater character arc involved for some of the cast. Well designed sets and wardrobe.
First of all, I would like to say that it is a very high quality production. The costumes and scenes were absolutely top quality. The character of Grace is definitely my favourite. The messages told in the series and the caste system are reflected very well. We realized once again how cunning and unethical the cosmetics industry is. The cruelty behind beauty is beautifully portrayed. Definitely watch it and let others watch it too.

So in 2022 there were major films Savage Beauty would be mutilated in comparison to thrill and suspense! However in 2024, a lot of the shows being released in now are flat and boring nothing exciting, low budget, terrible acting, with zero riveting corrupt family dynamics, and just have basic story lines. It was nice seeing fresh faces and explosive acting! PREDICTABLE ABSOLUTELY (in terms of whose the predator vs prey) but it has enough suspense in the character development to keep you engaged! Was devastated with the ending of Season 1 but Im a sucker for the downfall of elite families. A bit on the dramatic side and can have a few tones of soap opera but it does the job to keep you entertained. Disclaimer: watching this in 2024 vs 2022 MATTERS.
T:he deep dark secrets where not deep enough. Full of brainless clichés. The storylines were written for grade school level of intelligence. What happened to inventive dialogue"

A very interesting and very thrilling tv show.
The story touches on a lot of social problems, injustice and above all reveals what humans are capable of doing to get what they want. Whether it is to enrich, take revenge or even to do good.
The story always keeps you on your toes, because you never know what's going to happen. I recommend this tv show to everyone who is looking to listen to something thrilling with a lot of suspense.

Starts strong with a conventional but intriguing world building: rich family, dirt behind the glamour, past tragedies, etc.
It kind of loses its sparkle in the last episodes, because there are too many twist and turns and the vast majority are way too gratuitous.
Characters go from smart and manipulative to dumb and out of control with seemingly no reason, the quality of the script in general is a bit discontinuous and so is the tonal shift.
I would still give a chance to another season tho, just too see if they find a convincing way to wrap up the many subplots. Great soundtrack th.

This is terrible, the storylines are so boring and simplistic, I struggled to stay awake.
It has a cheesy soap opera feel to it production wise.
Some of the acting is okay but it feels like I've watched it a thousand times before, it brings nothing new or fresh to the table.

A big step up in terms of South African storytelling and production. Something different from the usual poverty, crime and HIV/AIDS and the way the vengeful storyline progresses is actually incredibly gripping and well captivated. Also excellent use of score, CMS and cinematography. Well done South Africa!
This show is simply outrageously nonsense. The plot line is terrible, the characters are decayed and have no human dignity whatsoever except the two brothers who also act illogical in the circle of events. It's like you must be in a world of denial and surreal humanity to watch this garbage. I felt insulted myself not turning this off at the first episode.
A great guilty pleasure drama. It has all the necessary elements of lust, greed, intrigue, and revenge. It is refreshing to see a drama using African beauty standards as opposed to Western as the norm.

Savage Beauty caught me off guard! I never expected to be so captivated by a series of South African origin, but Savage Beauty is it!
The plot is very plausible and baked just right. Revenge is the key, with a Dynasty-like vibe; set in South Africa. There is nothing second rate about the visuals and the opulence. Add to that a certain continuous level of suspense and the addiction to the show is accomplished.
The actors are amazing. They maintain their characters, however you keep on believing that maybe, just maybe they will change, but they never do. For love, For money, For power... As situations pull on them to change, they become more engrained in how their respective objectives must be accomplished... a new way... no... in the same devious, or noble-devious manner. Depending, of course, on which side of the fence you're on.
Looking forward to season 2. Not sure if there is enough material for a season 3, but I definitely need some "closure".
Savage Beauty hooked me!
Looking for the roller coaster ride to finish what it started!

I enjoyed this action packed suspense series." Nollywood " (Nigerian Hollywood) has been around for years. Never a tedious moment. It's the 1 thing Netflix got right by adding the genre to its mundane carbon copy programming.
Zinhle Manzini (Rosemary Zimu), a gorgeous young woman, connives her way into the Bengu family's existence, one of the most powerful in the South African beauty industry, on a quest to ruin the family from within for their previous actions against her and her siblings.
In the South African film industry, Zimu is a breath of fresh air, and I love seeing young people take up the baton and run with it. Even if she lacked the depth and intensity that conveys her deep resentment of the Bhengu family in some scenes, I believe she gave a solid performance in her role as Zinhle.
Mpho Sebeng, who played Zinhle's brother Bonga Selepe, I was not a fan of as much as I expected I'd be, despite the fact that he gave one of the best performances of the series. His pronunciation of Sesotho words could have been better and it's something he could look on improving.
Veteran actors, Dumisani Bhembe (Don Bhengu) and Nthati Moshesh (Grace Bhengu) were also a marvel to watch. Their casting has to be the best thing for this series as they put on one of the most wonderful performances of their careers.
The Cinematography was brilliant, including the locations which gave the series the feel and look it needed.
Dumisani Bhembe (Don Bhengu) and Nthati Moshesh (Grace Bhengu), both veteran actors, were also amazing to witness. Their casting has to be the best thing for this series, as they deliver one of their best performances to date.
The cinematography, particularly the settings, was excellent, giving the series the mood and look it required.

South African drama offers a window to peek and reflect on the consequences for souls who would exact revenge at all costs.
'Savage Beauty' is a six-part drama series about a young woman's insatiable quest for vengeance. Starring Rosemary Zimu, who plays the deceitful Zinhle Mansinzini, is a determined lady avowed to bring down a very successful family, owners of a massive beauty empire.
Zinhle's actions trigger a series of events but equally unfold secrets that would eventually come back to make her more despair. Also, cast in starring roles are Dumisani Mbebe Nthati Moshesh, Angela Sithole, Nambitha Ben-Mazwi and Jesse Suntele. Aside from the individual actor's stellar performance, their cogent character delivery collectively lends credence to the storyline and its conviction.
Created by Lebogang Mogashoa and directed by the trio of Denny Y. Miller, Theta Pele, and Rea Rangaka, the Netflix original series is narrated in a typical South African cultural context, with unimaginable but believable twists that will keep you on edge from episode one to six. And as far as riveting dramas go, you may find yourself so immersed in 'Savage Beauty' that you'd wish the storyline extends beyond the six-parter.
