How is this show even allowed to be on IMDB?
Remove it, it's so terrible man, why? What do these people as creators think? I mean.. it's all art, a form of art, music, dance, acting, cinematography everything is an art, it involves passion. When as a kid you thought about making a show, directing something, when you thought "wow, this thing really gives me the chills, this is what I wanna do with my life, that's it. I've found it, my own personal Nirvana"
Is this what you were thinking of? This epic stuff right here?? No seriously just tell me, are these people not aware of what they are creating? Or they're just money crazed passionless maniacs? Maybe they are just like a little child who's not aware that he sings really really bad and maybe the audience are just the adults who still appreciate it for some reason....

Never watch this garbage show. If you do, stop it, please don't do LOL, really it's not made for sane humans, these daily soaps can give anyone a heart attack with these trash melodrama stories
They are super boring, really a waste of time.
So never watch this show especially, if you are planning to watch it.

The idea was great. I loved Simar and Rori at the beggining. Also the dancing part and the way the plot went. After 20 episode (maybe, but was very few good episodes) it started to look more typical indian soap opera. With painfully slow actions and complete nonsence. I recommend Just the beggining and let the rest die.

The most useless and nonsense TV serial... I don't know who is going to watch it? And what high quality drinks are these BoroPlus Award judges talking about? Neither does it show the Indian family properly nor is there anything in the name of the story, children do better acting than this.

The most irritating, the worst, the horrible, the terrible, The illogical TV soap opera I saw is "Sasural Simar Ka". This serial is so terrible such that it doesn't have any story, the story rotates on orthodoxity, superstition, unwanted characters etc. Overacting by Deepika, Jayathi Bhatia and other characters are so cringe such that it makes to feel people irritated. And Jayathi Bhatia's signature dialog "Kehne ka Matlab hain ye..." makes people feel irritated.

I liked it better when it was a regular show about family matters, traditions, rituals... before turning into a fantasy show with ridiculous storylines. I particularly liked the actresses playing Simar and especially Mataji.
I am not Indian, but during the first seasons I was so hooked on the traditions presented such as the poojahs and Mata Rani.
Mataji is such a believable wise grandmother, she really saved the show in later seasons from being a total stinker. Her wise thinking and warmth even made me wish I was part of their family.

I have been watching every episode from 25 April 2011 up until 2 March 2018. Daily episodes, 20 minutes for each episode.
The storyline and supernatural elements are sometimes silly but Simar and Roli's journey is very nice. The plotline where Simar's daughter hates her because she left her for 16 years is the best. The one where Simar turns into a mosquito is the worst, as it lasted 200 daily episodes, and was very tiring.
Overall, incredible soap opera and so happy that it is coming back for a season 2.

Don't know why people hate it. It is a family drama and fantasy drama. It's fun to watch the dramas. There is no such thing to make a hype about hating it. U will praise specially Deepika's acting, Dheeraj's charm.
I'm not sure why people hate this. It's exciting to watch supernatural stuff, we're bored of typical saas-bahu dramas or typical love stories.
In Sasural Simar Ka, there's something new to watch, sure it's all fantasy, but producers and film-makers still make fantasy films.
So why you not hate them too?
People still watch fantasy.
And in my opinion, there's no reason to hate this show.
There are still Bollywood films releasing that features supernatural stuff and audience like them...
So Sasural Simar Ka is just the same, so I really cannot understand why everyone keeps hating it.
Love this show... You have my vote! :)

Growing up in Tamil Nadu, most of us are familiar with the wave of dubbed Hindi serials that dominated our TV screens in the 2000s and early 2010s. Among them, Sasural Simar Ka (translated in Tamil as 'Moondru mudichu' on channels like Polimer TV or Sun Life) holds a unique place. For many households, especially in semi-urban and rural parts of the state, this show was more than just evening entertainment - it became a daily ritual, full of drama, emotion, and wild twists that made it both addictive and unforgettable.
Sasural Simar Ka, produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms, originally aired on Colors TV from 2011 to 2018 and ran for over 2,000 episodes. It tells the story of two sisters, Simar and Roli, and their lives in their in-laws' house (sasural). What starts as a regular family drama soon evolves into a universe filled with everything from supernatural beings to strange curses - turning it into one of the most meme-worthy and talked-about Indian serials of all time.
For a Tamil-speaking audience, it was the drama that truly connected us to the show. Tamil serials usually followed a somewhat grounded pattern - mother-in-law vs. Daughter-in-law, property issues, love triangles, etc. But Sasural Simar Ka took things to a whole new level. Who could forget the naagin (shape-shifting snake) story arc? Or the time Simar's soul got trapped in a fly? These surreal twists became viral content even among those who had never seen the show before.
Despite all the memes and jokes, there's a reason why this show struck such a chord. At its core, Sasural Simar Ka is about relationships, duty, sacrifice, and resilience - themes that strongly resonate with Tamil culture as well. The portrayal of joint family systems, sibling love, the complexities of marriage, and a woman's journey in a patriarchal setup reflect familiar emotions and experiences shared by many Tamil households.
The dubbed version in Tamil brought the characters to life in a whole new way. The voice acting, emotional expressions, and even background music were adapted to suit local preferences. This localization made the Hindi serial feel like it was made just for us. Many Tamil-speaking viewers didn't even know it was originally in Hindi - that's how seamlessly it blended into our culture.
Simar, played by Dipika Kakar, became a household name. Her character went through every imaginable challenge, yet she remained brave, respectful, and full of hope. For many Tamil mothers and grandmothers watching, Simar symbolized the perfect daughter-in-law - traditional, strong, and selfless. Meanwhile, her sister Roli brought a youthful energy and charm to the show, making the sibling bond one of the emotional highlights.
Of course, the show wasn't without its flaws. The storyline often stretched logic to its limits. Characters came back from the dead, shapeshifters roamed the house, and black magic became a common subplot. But strangely enough, these elements made the show even more entertaining. It broke the monotony of regular soap operas and gave the audience something to talk about - whether it was with neighbors, on social media, or during tea breaks at work.
In Tamil Nadu, Sasural Simar Ka also became a social bonding element. Families watched it together after dinner. Elderly viewers found it engaging, while the younger generation found it amusing (and sometimes ridiculous). The show was also widely discussed in memes, parody videos, and fan pages, especially around 2015-2017, when social media fandom around dubbed serials really exploded.
The nostalgic factor is strong. Even if you haven't watched it recently, just hearing the title song or seeing Simar's photo brings back memories of sitting in front of the TV at 6 or 7 PM, waiting for the drama to unfold. Today, in the era of OTT and high-budget web series, Sasural Simar Ka reminds us of a different kind of entertainment - full of emotion, exaggeration, and engagement.
In conclusion, as someone from Tamil Nadu, this serial is not just famous but also sentimental. It may be over-the-top, even absurd at times, but it delivered what most daily soap audiences wanted - drama, emotion, love, sacrifice, and endless twists. Whether you watched it seriously or ironically, Sasural Simar Ka left an impression, and that's what makes it special.
