Nurse 3-D

I so wanted to enjoy this. It could have made for a great detective storyline with them being so popular on TV these days.

Yes, there are beautiful girls and plenty of boobs and stocking tops on show for those boys going through puberty to enjoy but the blood scenes might prove a bit daunting for a 13 year old

I suppose it can be classed as a black comedy horror that even Ray Bradbury could not have thought of.

I can't remember seeing another film where a woman is wearing a bra but no knickers.

The film could have been a whole lot more but there is a moral to the story which will give disaffected husbands nightmares.

I appreciate that these are modern times and the PC gang are out in full force; so many films and TV shows these days make men out to be weak and feeble and women so strong and dominant (ok, so there are men that like that sort of thing)but surely some sort of parity is needed.

On the plus side, the end is not what you would normally predict to happen but I am sure there is no-one demanding a sequel anyway.

Nurse isn't a Masterpiece for sure, but it isn't the worst movie ever. With Nurse you will have an epiphany : Paz DE la Huerta is certainly the worst actress ever. She can't talk properly, she can't make you interested in any psychological aspect of the character. You just don't believe. She is the living proof that not everyone can act, and she's doing it perfectly. And because of her, what could have been good in the movie is totally ruined. What a waste of money for producers and of time for me. It is just seems like the role was already assigned to her even before the script has been written. I'm quite sure that someone didn't know that making movie with professionals was a must in this industry. It is a pity.

Just watched this. An odd film; a mix of film noir narrative overlay, slasher, sexploitation and a moral message. Paz de la Huerta as the 'nurse' is super sexy and undressed for about 30% of the movie. Having watched her in Boardwalk Empire and this, I can't decide whether she can't act at all, is a one trick pony or held back by typecasting. Here she plays an entirely competent serial killer so cold she'd make Henry and Otis squirm. Pretty high production values for what I would say was a film on a tight budget and the gore is plentiful and at times enjoyably gratuitous. Definitely not a keeper but fun for a Saturday night on the sofa with a bowl of popcorn. 6/10

Since I saw the trailer it was clear that this movie is kind of a B- movie. Not so much when you look at the quality of cinematography, editing, stuff like that, but mostly because of the plot, the writing and the acting, which was weirdly porn-y and just uncomfortable, especially when it comes to Paz de la Huerta, who played the nurse Abby Russell.

The plot actually made me think about American Psycho 2, and how I've often said that movie would be way better if you just took away all the American Psycho references. Nurse is incredibly similar to American Psycho 2, but it's hard to say if it's a good thing. On the other hand there's blood and gore, more than in American Psycho 2, but the story doesn't seem as rich.

The movie was surprisingly colourful and looked really nice. Only problem is we didn't see it in 3D, which I guess is somewhat the point, so sometimes some effects look really tacky. Are they less or more tacky with 3D?

Nurse is an alright horror movie. There are so many things I'd like to change about it to make it even better, though. It has potential, but doesn't reach it. Still, fun to watch at least once.

Paz De La Huerta (the lead actress) is known for her drunken, sexual acts in public. In this she wasn't actually acting at all and yet it was still unbelievably bad. Not sure if she was trying to sound like Marilyn Munroe or what, but she just sounded like she'd downed a bottle of booze before each take.

Plot revolves around the idea that every man is a sleaze bag, attracted to massive, fake looking pouts and over the top slutty behaviour.

Supporting characters are one dimensional, stupid and unethical within their professions.

Plenty more that bothers me about this, but oddly the thing that bothers me the most......... nurses wearing white platform shoes, stockings, garter belt and tight mini dresses on the job. It may as well have been a porn for those who get off on gore.
