Nurse 3-D

One of the worst things I have seen in a long time! The only saving grace was Katrina Bowden. I don't think I've ever said this but there was just way to much nudity, that even felt wrong typing, but it's all the movie is. It's like they knew they had a stinker so they threw in a bunch of T&A and hoped no one would notice how bad it was. Well, I noticed and I want a refund.

Paz De La Huerta CAN NOT act. It was like watching someone run their fingernails across a chalkboard. Yes, it was that bad. Save yourself some money, more importantly, save yourselves the hour and a half of your life that you'll never get back. Stay away, stay very far away.....

(2013) Nurse 3-D PSYCHOLOGICAL HORROR.

Co-written and directed by Douglas Aarniokoski that has veteran nurse,Abbey Russell (Paz de la Huerta) the narrator, greeting newcomer, Danni Rogers (Katrina Bowden) to the profession of nursing. Abbey is also a serial killer who loathes men, all men who cheat on their wives as she had killed at the opening. Abbey also has another objective, and that is to break up Danni with her current boyfriend, Steve (Corbin Bleu) she has known him since college. And as the movie continues, viewers know more about Abbey as soon as the hospital "All Saints" introduces the new person for human resources, Rachel Adams (Melanie Scrofano) and upon her first meeting with Abbey Russell, she initially thought she was someone she had recognized from a mental institution by the name of Sarah Price. And listening to this latest possible revelation is Danni.

After watching this, it is reminiscent of two sources, the first is "The Roommate" because Abbey becomes obsessed with having Danni as a companion despite her already having a boyfriend, who Abbey would even go to the lengths of going after Danni's cheating father-in-law, Larry (Martin Donovan) who happens to be a successful author and therapist. And the second source is "Dexter" because Abbey works at the hospital, that she could use drug inducing methods against her potential victims. My only problem is that the movie dumb down it's characters to provide the ridiculous ending that it did.

Nurse 3D promises a stylish, erotic horror thriller, but it ends up being a shallow and messy film that fails on almost every level. The "3D" aspect is practically nonexistent, making the title feel like a gimmick rather than an actual feature.

The story follows a psychotic nurse with a twisted moral code, but instead of being a compelling or even entertaining slasher, the film is bogged down by weak writing, laughable dialogue, and forced sex appeal. The performances range from over-the-top to lifeless, making it hard to take anything seriously.

The attempt to blend horror and dark humor falls flat, and while there are moments of stylish visuals, they don't compensate for the lack of a coherent plot or engaging characters. Even as a guilty pleasure, Nurse 3D fails to deliver, making it one of those forgettable horror films that try too hard but end up being unintentionally bad.

Quite possibly the most poorly written female lead character of all time. I selected this movie hoping it would be similar to American Mary. Unlike the amazing depth of character given to Mary, this lead was a horrible noir wannabe ripped right out of a low budget video game and placed in a world amongst otherwise adequate actors and actresses. She just didn't fit and every word she said was frustrating because we were supposed to believe the other characters accepted it as normal, or worse, sexy. I couldn't decide if it was the acting of the actress that was terrible or if she was doing the best she could with what is by far the laziest dialog ever written. It's like the director's idea of a bad girl is a girl who talks slowly and whispers at all times for absolutely no reason. There were no elements of surprise in the entire film as the character was so one dimensional that you could guess exactly how she would react to a situation and be absolutely correct to the point where it was ridiculous. Her first world problems back story makes her hard to empathize with. One final thought, why did they choose that particular actress? The character is supposed to be this sexy freak that men lose their minds over but every shot of her face is cringe worthy. I normally wouldn't judge based on looks but her character is supposed to be irresistible and everything about her, from her pout face to her god awful whisper voice is just terrible.

In New York, Abby Russell (Paz de la Huerta) is a nurse of the All Saints Memorial Hospital and a serial-killer of unfaithful husband after hours. When the rookie Danni (Katrina Bowden) is hired to work in the hospital, Abby is into Danni but she has a boyfriend and does not suspect of the intentions of her friend. Abby believes that if she kills Danni's stepfather, Dr. Larry Cook (Martin Donovan), she will live with her. But soon Danni suspects that Abby has murdered her stepfather and moves apart from her. When the new HR manager arrives at the hospital, she is impressed with the resemblance of Abby with a woman named Sarah Price. Danni investigates Sarah and discloses dark secrets from the past of Abby.

"Nurse" is a horror movie with one of the awfullest lead actresses that I have ever seen. Paz de la Huerta seems to have speech problem and is neither beautiful nor sexy or funny and her nudity is depressing. Douglas Aarniokoski directs the movie with heavy hand and scenes that should be funny to relief the tension do not work. Last but not the least, the story is terrible. My vote is three.
